Lovely views, great building.
Only 2 girls working, doing the tours, charging the fees, selling products, serving wine and much more, a bit messy I' d say.
Natalia our tour had a great knowledge about the place which was a bonus, and she kept on smiling despite her working conditions.
Sala de aromas, a bit disappointing, basically they throw you there and let you play around without any explanation of anything there.
The restaurant was appalling, the food took ages to get to our table, very small portions, the meat wasn't that good either, rather chewy and overcooked and the dessert, oh dear, a lump of ice was there together with some fruit and they called it sorbet, it was just plain ice I swear! awful experience.

We toured Bodegas Belasco de Baquedano. The tour includes the visit to the Sala de Aromas. The tour itself was modest and probably didn't offer much information not heard in other tours (an advantage, of course, is that this made it relatively short). The high point was the wine tasting and the Sala de Aromas. The sala offers the opportunity to small approximately 60 odors/tastes that make wine into wine. It was fascinating. The Sala also included an interesting narrative about cork productions. The tasting had two options -- two or four pours. We went for the four and particularly enjoyed contrasting the three Malbecs -- a young one, one produced on oak used once before, and one produced using new oak. Each was good, but the differences were clear.

The staff was a bit overwhelmed and probably trying to do too much. As a result, they can be slow in responding to appointment requests. We were persistent.

Wine Lovers, ever wonder how to describe all the different aromas you can taste and smell in a wine but don't know how to describe them? This bodega has one area dedicated to smelling and identifying the aromas found in wines. 46 stations from friut aromas like lemon, orange, raspberry, to flowers like rose, geranium, or nuts like almond, hazelnuts, or cedar wood, pine, vanilla, etc. I wish I could have this at home!
