“Big California winery experience...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 May 2014

...a bit too commercial for us especially compared to the lovely, amazing and substantially smaller wineries that Mendoza has to offer. Beautiful grounds for sure, but for a real Mendoza wine experience, think small.

Dear friend,

I guess there were lots of visitors on that day because of the unusual long week-end…

Hope we can offer you a more personalized experience next time you visit our region,

Saludos cordiales,

“Facility to match the wine”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 May 2014

Catena Zapata offers a world class facility in which to present their world class wines. They were understaffed on the day of our visit and the host seemed to know little of the wines, but the place was awesome as were the wines we tasted.

Dear friend,

I´m afraid there were too many people visiting us on that day due to the unusual long week-end….
Maybe we should not have accepted all visit requests, but most people insist on coming even if they have to join a larger group.

We will reconsider this and hope we can offer you a better experience next time you visit our province.

Saludos cordiales,

Silvana Baro Catena

“A must in the region”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 January 2014 via mobile

The tour experience here is a little like Napa. Our guide was great, but the focus was more on the interior architecture and bottle storage. You won't see the wine production space or any behind the scenes experiences. The tasting we had was of the most basic wines, and we were lucky that Cabas had arranged for a premium wine tasting, paired with lunch, which was excellent.

“A place you must go”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 January 2014

Comparing to other wineries in Mendoza, I would say that there are many more beautiful than Catena. However, the history and the brand created by Catena make mandatory the visit of this winery. Also, the wine is excellent and the tour guides are very pleasant. We were luck to met Angelica Zapata who was very kind and autograph the wine bottles.

It worth the ride.

“Great winery tour with a very knowledgeable guide”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 January 2014

This is a very modern and beautiful winery, which I'd definitely recommend as a stop for those on a wine tour (especially if you are novices like us). Our guide was very knowledgeable and gave a great introduction to Argentinian wines as well as wine tasting in general.
