the hotel looks nice on the outside. also the lobby and the hallway are well. The rooms are poor, small and need an upscale. There is airco and a TV. The staff is friendly. And there is a big closed parking place.

Horrible. I have stayed in many of places but honestly the deception and overcharging were, the worst. Rooms horrible and very very much needed updated. The meals were grosse,I ordered grilled and got a fried piece of chicken all dried out. Nasty.

Oh watch they overcharged us on the room from the Internet site...bad.

Room Tip: Not one they are all bad and really really need repair

We ate at this hotel twice...first occasion the service and food was good. Our waiter was attentive and explained everything on the menu. He could speak a little English..so this helped with our selection.
About a week later we were shopping in Rivas and decided to get one of their wonderful burgers and chicken sandwich. Big Mistake!!! We waited a few minutes while the bartender/waitress finished applying her makeup..and finally got a menu. My girl ordered the burger, me, the filet of chicken sandwich. Notice I said "filet" which is plainly stated in the description on the menu. When our food arrived the burger looked great..My filet of chicken ..was not as appealing. Little pieces of chopped chicken, one small piece of lettuce and a very small slice of tomato. Menu also stated it came with a salsa dressing, fries and salad. NOT today..when I questioned the waitress, through google translate..she had no concern about the problem, stated the chopped chicken started out as filet but they use the same chicken to make fajita's and that's the way they serve it. Same at the front desk...they offered no solution to the problem..no money back, no replacement.
I'm not saying food wasn't tasty ..I'm saying, serve it as stated on the menu...a return customer is better than no customer!! BTW we were the only people eating at the time!

Me and my brother stayed at Nicarao Inn for one night in september on our way to Costa Rica. First of all the price of the room is ridiculously high in comparison to the quality of the hotel. Granted, the surroundings are nice but the rooms themselves are extremely basic and in our case they did not stock up for two people with the amenities. Beds were nice, but leaking faucets and no windows did not go well with the atmosphere.

Biggest gripe for us was the extremely low level of service. The receptionist looked very pissed when we interrupted her facebook sessions at public computer in order to check travel information. During breakfast we waited for a very long time for the juice (part of the breakfast) which never arrived. After asking for it they just laughed and mentioned they didnt have any.. Total ignorance and lack of respect towards the customer.

To sum up: convenient "hotel" for people passing by. but very overpriced in relation to the service you get.

I stayed at the Nicarao Inn for just one night enroujte to Ometepe. The motel is up to or greater than North American motels at the same price point. I was given room #1 which has no window but the bed was huge and very comfortable. the bathroom was well appointed and had lots of hot water. The lobby has two nice patyios overlooking the street which are great spots to hang out and watch the traffic. The included breakfast was nothing special but certainly well prepared and tyasty. If I had a complaint, it would be regarding the front desk staff but given my dishevelled appearance after travelling by the chicken bus from Managua, this might be understandable.
The Inn is located within walking distance of the bus terminal, is very close to the market, and there are many bars and restaurantswithin a short walk. I could never get the PC in the lobby to access the internet but there are a few very cheap internet cafes just down the street which have very good service.
If you want to spoil yourself with comfort and A/C, this Inn is not a bad choice, though somewhat expensive by Nicaraguan standards.

Room Tip: Ask for room1 - Great bed.

We stayed for a one day layover between Isla Ometepe and a transfer to Managua Airport. The lobby and restaurant areas are all first class but the rooms leave a little to be desired. My room had a window high up on the wall with no view. Once we got the AC going the room was comfortable and quiet.

The veranda is a great place to watch the world go by. The scene is classic Nica in the center of town. Next door is Pali supermarket ,a great place to stock up on provisions, supplies, health products, etc.; it's owned by Wal-Mart but looks nothing like anything in the US.

Braekfast was very good. Staff was very helpful at check-in; they organized a good car to get us to Managua; No hassles at checkout.

The best thing about this hotel is sitting on the veranda which is back from the busy street. We spent the afternoon, sipping Coke Light and reading. All the typical Nicaraguan traffic seemed to past by as we read. The room is smallest but acceptable. It is only a block from the main square and six blocks from the Panamerican highway and the fancier busses travelling between Managua and San Jose, Costa Rica. A convenient place on the way to elsewhere, whether San Juan del Sur or Ometepe.
