This place is a real step back in time. And not in a good way. Probably built in the 70s or 80s during the Tito leadership era. Unfortunately the place hasn't seen any improvements or updates since. The entrance area is big and spacious with a couple of who's/travel agency trading in them. The reception desk was odd. Not an open desk but counter with glass doors across which were only opened when necessary.
The lift up to the 2nd floor where my room was had seen better days. The corridor to the rooms again was outdated with very of looking signage.
Lock on the room door was quite basic and everything in the room, I mean everything, was extremely tired looking. Bathroom especially was one of the worst I've had, the WC and wash basin were olive green in colour again giving a distinct impression they we're original. Taps were in poor condition and not properly clean. Shower area had no curtain and a cheap, handheld head and a suspicious amount of red scale around the plug. Hot water took absolutely ages to come through.
Beds were basic, my room was a single plus double bed. Linen was basic but the bed fairly comfortable.
Saying all this, the room rate was the equivalent of €25. So whist I wasn't looking for luxury, I would really like to have seen it a bit more update.
On a much more positive note, the hotel restaurant was good. I am not usually a fan of hotel restaurants, but this was a Sunday night and the only other restaurant in Požega was closed. Whilst the restaurant really did appear to be in line with the era of the rest of the hotel., food and friendly service were exemplary. I had a very enjoyable three course with beer and coffee for less than 800 Dinars.
