This place hasn't seen a lot of modernisation or refurbishment in the lifetime of most of its customers - but it is a busy and friendly village local which serves the standard range of pub grub at reasonable prices. I had fish and chips - tasty and enjoyable and (I think) £8.95, and for dessert a 99 ice cream cone for £1 . Decent cask beer too. They had some Goddards beer from the Isle of Wight as a guest ale the night we went.
Not remotely sophisticated or trendy - but good value and we had an enjoyable Saturday evening.
