Stayed here twice, that should tell a story. The 1st time stayed in a four poster room, overlooking lovely countryside. 2nd time, stayed in an ordinary double, rather small, but once again, clean, and everything in room that you require, tea/coffee etc.
The Staff are excellent, helpful, triendly. Had a problem on checkout, but soon sorted out by Claire on Reception.
We are members of the Friends of Rowley Manor, and the deals E` Mailed to you are Fantastic

Room Tip: Choose rooms 1/3/8

I'm sorry to have to say this but the restauraunt at Rowley Manor has really gone down hill. I have eaten here a number of times over the last couple of years (primarily on groupon deals), and every time it has been worse than the previous experience. They have now had my customary '3rd strike' and I will not be visiting again.

The groupons started for a 3 course meal, then they became a 2 course meal (trying to get you to buy a starter for an additional £5); but the latest 'penny pinching' (having to buy vegetables separately to accompany a main meal) was a step too far!

The quality of the food has also declined in the same period, and was something I used to look forward to, but no more. The duck was over-cooked and the vanilla cheesecake I had was bland and had a soggy biscuit bottom.

The bottom line is I can get better quality, better value food elsewhere locally even without a groupon voucher.

Lovely old manor house situated in open countyside. We stayed in Room 3 which was just perfect, it was a large room with a four poster bed and a large bathroom. The room was very warm but the heater was controllable. Both dinner and breakfast were of a high standard. The staff were attentive and friendly without being intrusive. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

Room Tip: Room 3 was perfect, lovely views over open countryside.

I booked this over night stay for the 31st January for my husband's birthday.
From arriving to leaving we were thoroughly impressed with this place.
Lovely reception area with roaring log fire. Room (15) was a good size with nice size bathroom and toiletries provided. The bed was well comfy.
The food was excellent, well presented and very tasty.
Large selection to choose from at breakfast the next morning.
The staff were all very efficient and friendly.
We will definitely be returning to Rowley and recommending to family and friends. Well worth a visit :-)

We stayed recently using a two night Travelzoo voucher. As an expat Yorkshireman the second night cost of B&B at £15 per head was a reet good rate! I can appreciate why reviews vary from terrible to excellent and you wouldn't really choose a second floor bedroom to stay in unless you long for a 50's seaside boarding house experience. Having said that the positives far outweigh the negatives. The superb staff, good food , reasonable wine list and charm of the place put any concerns we had over the room to the back of our minds. The place has character and they don't come much better than the owner, the wonderful Amanda. Our trip to the area concerned a somber experience but we left with a smile on our faces after a most enjoyable experience and became friends of Rowley Manor. I must admit that Fawlty Towers did spring to mind on occasions but we loved the place and will be returning (providing we get the same rates!)

Room Tip: Avoid rooms on the second floor 10 to 17 I think

We took advantage of a mid week DBB break offered by the hotel. For our first choice of date, we were told that only a small room was available so, in view of previous comments, we decided to stay when the hotel was not quite so busy and we could have a larger room. We were not disappointed. Room 3 was large, very comfortable and had lovely views. Yes, the hotel isn't brand new, nor does it have 'corporate' matching furniture but it is full of character, which I prefer. The hotel staff were as friendly and accommodating as on our previous visit, the food and service in the restaurant excellent and we were only sorry that we couldn't stay for more than one night.

Room Tip: We have stayed in rooms 3 and 9 which are both large and have good views

Well how wonderful.

This is all I really need to put for this review but I know a little more details would be helpful.

We didn't stay here but it did look amazing, a very calming atmosphere with muffled conversations going on all around and the ting tinging of spoons against china cups.

We where here for afternoon tea foe my mums birthday and it was just super, plenty to eat and drink, oh and the fizz or mulled wine on arrival was a nice touch too, very unexpected.

Will definitely be returning and if you've not been then please do so you won't regret it.
