stayed Sunday evening at the Star and was pleased with my choice , a comfortable room , one of five available which are set at the rear of the pub with parking in front of for want of a better word chalet. We had the room No.1 which actually was a disabled room with a wet room but was fine for us. Beds were comfortable and the breakfast which you pre order was very nice . I would stay again and we were welcomed nicely by the owners.

Stayed for two nights when we were down for a wedding. The rooms are very nice and clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Ate in the bar one night and teh food was very good. The bar is also very reasonably priced. Breakfast was lovely.

I stayed for 8 nights and was made to feel very welcome by the lovely couple, Lyn and Spiros. The room was clean with good facilities. Plenty of breakfast choices (both hot and cold) served from 7.30 am onwards. The evening meals were freshly home cooked, tasty and very generous portions! I had a pleasant stay and will definitely return.

As another reviewer wrote its not 5* however if all you want is a nice clean comfy room good food (lovely breakfast) and a bit of company over a beer then it ticks the boxes as the owners said its also work in progress and I wish them good luck in that.

This is by far the most unpleasant, unfriendly place we have ever had the misfortune to stay. Having booked weeks beforehand the room was not ready when we arrived late afternoon. Having filled out the registration card we were left for 25 mins just sat there like dummies - nobody said a word about what was happening. Bar staff weren't interested, prefering to talk to the locals some of whom had obviously had more than they could handle. A lot of noise in the room from the 'beer garden'. They don't do food on Sundays. I prefer to be spoken to rather than grunted at by, I assume, Spiros. Don't expect to get breakfast early, it won't happen. Having booked this place and pre-paid on the Internet, we were asked to, and had to pay again on leaving. We had another booking for October at this place - this has now been cancelled. We certainly won't be staying there again. My advice is to find somewhere else. Try Driffield, the pubs and hotels there are much more civilised.
