“Absolutely Fantastic”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 April 2013

On arrival we were offered tea or coffee with scones and jam,the fresh warm scones were delicious, just what you need after a long drive. There are large acres of land and beautiful scenery and very peaceful. Our bedroom was spacious and very comfortable, overlooking fantastic views. There is a fish pond in the front garden and in the back garden were geese, chickens, ducks, micro pigs and horses roaming around. Ed and Anna made us very welcome right from the time we arrived. Breakfast was delicious with tasty fresh eggs from their own chickens. There is The Stour Wood RSPB just a walk away overlooking the estuary. Harwich is a 9 minute drive away. We would like to thank Anna and Ed for their very kind hospitality and would recommend staying here to anyone.

what a lovely review, thank you so much. It was lovely having you here and even though we live in an amazing place I have to thank you for raising our awareness of the birds that are around - I guess we take them for granted - which thanks to you, we now stop and really appreciate them. The dawn chorus is quite amazing. We are thrilled that you had a great time, a couple of days away can make all the difference and the sun shone too. All our best wishes and hope to see you again one day. Again many thanks for review. Anna and Ed xxx

Ed and Anna, made us welcome from the first minute we walked in the door, nothing was too much trouble, with tea and scones to welcome us. The delicious breakfasts were great, even a vegetarian option. We felt like we were staying with family. the accommodation was perfect and we enjoyed our stay very much, visiting the pigs, Daisy and Bruce was one of the most memorable highlights of my stay, in fact after 6 days it was sad to say goodbye to Ed and Anna .We would highly recommend this B and B,

We enjoyed every moment of your stay, we loved having you here. So glad you felt like we were family - its a shame you had to go! Thanks for the book on the wine, we have read it and let's hope one day it brings us back to your region. You left Australia in 100 degrees and had to bear our bleak midwinter - it's now bursting with spring and full of birdsong and flowers shame you are not here to enjoy it! Daisy and Bruce and have a run in the veg garden they are very happy now the sun is shining. Lots of love Anna and Ed xx Ed will be touch with you later xx

Just off the boat in Harwich, just a few miles in the middle of nowhere, WOW.
When I arrived with my son we were welcomed by Ed. A very hospitable personnality who made us feel welcome and at home. We were offered a high tea with home made scones; in one word "Fantastic". In the evening we went to a nearby pub which served real (great) food. Definitely worth a visit. After a brilliant breakfast with fresh eggs of the chickens in the garden, my son helped feeding the little pigs, horses, geese and chickens. The possibilities here and in the surroundings are endless (horseriding, biking, sea-fishing, visits to Colchester, Ipswich and Manningtree, etc, etc...)
We had a great time and so will you.
Ed and Anna, Thank you.
Regards, Jos

Room Tip: Room with dubblebed en single bed, perfect for small family on the first floor with an amazing view.

Luxury accommodation near the port of Harwich. Fantastic bed and Breakfast in a rural peaceful setting and only 2 miles from the Harwich port. Our holiday started before we even boarded ship. Highly recommended, great place and great hosts, they couldn't do enough for us. Looking around the farm was a great treat and the duck eggs for breakfast were delicious.

Room Tip: All rooms were great, great views and ensuites

My girlfriend and I stayed here recently and had a lovely time.
Anna and Ed are genuinely warm and naturally entertaining hosts.

We were warmly welcomed on arrival, immediately at ease
and well looked after throughout our stay.

The place is very relaxing with large front and rear gardens,
stables and land.
Hens and geese are waddling around in the back garden
and the micro-pigs are super cute!

The room was very comfy and well appointed and
the en-suite bathroom was excellent.

We slept like logs on the first night,
admittedly after a long drive.
After waking, we were soon quite hungry,
but we were not out of luck.

I've stopped in quite a few B+ B's over the years
and breakfast is often passable enough,
but rarely is it deliciously home made like this,
with eggs straight from the hens in the garden!
It really hit the spot.

This place is ideal for ferry travellers,
its only 2 miles from the port, great value with tasty food,
a truly peaceful ambience and very friendly, entertaining hosts.
I highly recommend it.
