The bar and restaurant staff 1st class. Food excellent, golf course very good and very well priced, accommodation block not so good. You will not get a comfortable nights stay if it is busy, or given one of the poor rooms with bad beds, no remotes, and some poor showers. Doors can be heard banging throughout the night, or you can listen to plumbing singing you to sleep through the paper thin walls. Some showers are a nightmare ! be careful check the temperature before you use it, no internet even in the bar there's still no suitable connections.Breakfast LOL, service with a smile forget it. Would I stay there again ? yes if only for temp measures, would I eat there? yes well recommended head for top meadow for food it is quality service and catering. Overall experience 6 / 10.
Recommendations: Internet mast onsite is needed. Management go through each room with a pen and paper and write down whats wrong and do something about it within 24 hrs. Check each shower after every check out and before every check in, check the tv remote is there and it works if not inform your guests at the time of booking whats wrong. Its only the accommodation block letting this place down.
HOTEL MANAGEMENT ARE LETTING THIS GOOD PLACE DOWN BADLY WITH A POORLY DESIGNED ACCOMMODATION BLOCK!.

Room Tip: Ask when booking if the shower works as it should. Have you a view from the window as some rooms are...

Had a lovely family meal here a few Fridays ago for my mother in laws 70th. Can't fault the place really. Wide choice of quality cooked food which is well presented. Even though it was busy the service was fantastic . Nice atmosphere with the singer and you could have a dance too if you fancied it. Will be coming back again very soon!

We recently stayed at Top Meadow following a family member's wedding reception being held at the venue.

We arrived on Saturday around 12.30pm to be told that our room was ready but there was a problem with our shower but this would be fixed.

We then went to our room to find your basic motel room with not much décor and your standard bed, wardrobe, TV and work desk along with Tea/Coffee facilities. All fine but very basic.

The bathroom was very basic as well with just a shower (which was broken), sink and toilet. I am please to advise that the maintenance team did come and fix the shower in the afternoon though but it would have probably been better to have it repaired prior to our arrival as it was a 2 minute task of just replacing the hose.

Now we come to the huge let down part of the stay - the breakfast service!!! The lady that was running the breakfast room clearly missed the training day on customer service, everything seemed such a big effort to her and the way she spoke to customers was nothing but rude. She seemed like she didn't want all these paying customers coming to breakfast and any small request was met with a rude blunt response - it's all fine taking peoples money for bookings but its a completely different story when providing a service. If you don't want customers then do not take their bookings

Some customers had been served orange juice but when others asked for orange juice they was told that there wasn't any - she obviously didn't realise we was all family and was speaking about how she had told the first people that she had to hide the orange juice out of the back because it was like 'Fawlty Towers here'.

Then when we questioned where our breakfast was because guests that had arrived 15 minutes after us had received theirs, we was met with a very rude abrupt 'It's coming' whilst storming off to the kitchen.

It doesn't take much to run a breakfast room and handle small requests with a bit of a smile but this put a very sour ending to the stay!!

I wouldn't recommend this to friends or family and would definitely advise on finding an alternative accommodation nearby if you are attending an event here.

Room Tip: Apparently only one room has a double bed in which we was lucky enough to receive but all other room...

This was not our first visit. Our first one here was for a celebration dinner with our church family some time ago, about 40 of us. Great food, great service and really friendly. We then came back with friends for a birthday celebration. Again great food, great service and really friendly. We then came back for my 65th birthday with all the family about 18 months ago, and, you've guessed it, great food, great service and really friendly. Tonight we came with friends. Six of us to celebrate a birthday. This time the hiccup - we waited over an hour and a quarter for our food. In defence of the restaurant they were extremely busy. Notwithstanding that it was a Wednesday night, it was heaving. Not an empty table, and that was the reason for the wait. Even with this, unusual and rare, wait they still get 5 stars. The food is superb. Our starters of pickled herring, prawns in filo pastry, whitebait, prawn cocktail - all faultless. Our main course included, half a roast chicken, lasagne, fish pie, steak and ale pie and rump steak - again all faultlessly superb. Piping hot, enormous portions, perfectly cooked veg'. Great desserts and coffee. Guess what as it was the Tuesday to Friday menu the three courses were £9 a head. WOW! The staff were working fit to drop but they were incredibly friendly and helpful. So, I think I mentioned it before but, great food, great service and really friendly people. The men's loo was a little "tired" but it still didn't detract from the 5 stars. Excellent thank you so much. We will be back.

We went for a meal here for my mum and dads silver wedding anniversary and they were absolutely fantastic. The service from the waiters couldn't be faulted. The food was brilliant. Their live entertainment was good with a range of music from new to old so included everyone. The whole night was perfect.

We had our wedding at Top Meadow on Saturday 8 June and it was a great venue. The team there were so helpful and made sure everything went exactly as planned on the day. They assisted our Best Men when they had a technical issue with their speech and everything got sorted in time - thank you!

The food was lovely - we had pate, roast lamb and white chocolate and rasberry torte - everyone said how nice the food was (especially the epic yorkshire puds!). The evening buffet was also delicious with a really good selection.

The grounds made a great setting for our photos (helped by the sunshine!). The welcome drinks were also served on the patio which was nice, and for those people that didn't like champagne, they were able to go to the golf club bar and grab a beer or a soft drink.

We stayed in the Bridal suite which was really comfortable and hasd plenty of space to hang up my dress and his suit. Other friends and relatives also stayed in the hotel which was really reaosnably priced. The rooms are quite basic, but everyone we spoke to said they were clean and comfortable, which is all you need. Breakfast was served in the golf club the next morning and was very tasty! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a wedding venue in the area.

We have visited Top Meadow numerous times with family and friends and not once have we been disappointed.
The choices on the menu are fantastic, the bar is well stocked and reasonable the tables are always presented to a very high standard, both linen and table settings, everywhere is clean and tidy.
We have always found the staff to be very smart, friendly and polite, with pleasant welcoming smiles and a sense of humour.
Service is very good, the views across the fields are great are excellent and the value is second to none.

Well done top Meadow, we shall keep returning.

Roger Clay
