The hotel is very central for the railway into Southend Airport or Southend itself and is in a quaint market town or Rochford. Quite near a main road, but not too noisy. The rooms are basic and the quilt alittle thin with no extra blanket or pillows in the room. You do get noise from the other rooms, hairdryer, TV but not too bad. The staff are great, although seem to be run off there feet at busy times, as when I stayed and we filled the hotel with wedding guests. Breakfast time was too busy and with only one member of staff they were stressed. we kept running out of bowls, coffee,( which was not that hot), juice etc. The cooked breakfast is outstanding, so stay just for that, you will not be disappointed. The room facilities where ok, carpet a bit threadbare, and the milk in the carton things tasted awful, like sterilised milk!! Our towels smelt of bleach, which was not a good thing either, and having sensitive skin, I had to buy one . But overall, excellent value for money, and would recommend it.
