“An Excellent Stay”
Reviewed 16 June 2014

We attended a wedding here and booked two rooms for us and a family member. We were very impressed. The wedding was fabulous and the food very good. The waiting staff were friendly, fun, efficient and helpful. The room where the wedding took place was lovely and the area the evening reception took place was smallish but perfect for a great atmosphere. The rooms are very nicely appointed with comfortable beds and great, powerful showers. Breakfast is cooked to order and is delicious. The management of this hotel should be proud of all staff as they have a great attitude while still being helpful and efficient.

The bed was huge and very comfortable, and the room was spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated. Breakfast was fairly limited but perfectly adequate, especially given it was included in the price. The car park is rather small but we managed to get a space. Overall a good value overnight stop.

Stayed here for one night. Booked via Trip Adviser. Car Park was a little awkward to find, but adequate space in front of hotel. Well received and given room on ground floor. Need to use room key to access corridor to room and when front door is locked at 2300.

Large room 6m x 4m + 2m x 2m + bathroom 2m x 1m. Clean. Cream walls. Pale carpet. Doors to cut off 'sitting' area. Comfy bed. Shutters on window. Good black out. Room was quiet. Efficient electric heaters. Wardrobe. Good hospitality tray. Big mirrors in the room. Shower worked well and was hot. Ok lighting levels. TV was 26 inch - freeview package - flat screen on wall.

Excellent breakfast - individually cooked - very tasty.

According to lady on check -out, I could have paid less by booking direct with hotel. Check out was efficient. Let me leave car in car park while I went to my meeting in Rochford.

Couple of little things - reading spotlight didnt work, there was no socket for my laptop near the desk unit.

Down on a business trip with my better half, decided to stay @ The Rochford - and what a good choice!!! Simply put, The Rochford excels at the most important feature for any Hotel - making their guests feel "Special", and they certainly made this Midlands couple feel very "Special". I'm gobsmacked at the price we paid for our one-night stay (£58) which included the best cooked breakfast we have had the pleasure to consume in many, many years, and when you looked at the facilities of the Hotel & the really "Modern" look of the place, the price is almost a "Steal"! Well Done to ALL the staff that helped make our stay very enjoyable, special thanks to the receptionist who advised on the local fish & chip shop! And continued success - you certainly deserve it. We WILL be back!

Room Tip: Just book this Hotel and enjoy! We Did!

We booked to stay leading up to a family wedding at the venue. The staff were exceptional, The rooms clean and overall we couldn't fault the place. The wedding went without a hitch, great evening buffet, well presented and tasty. We spent a couple of days travelling by bus around Essex (buy the Rover ticket) couldn't have been easier with the map gained from Reception. The Rochford Hotel is over the road to the station, one stop from Southend Airport, The reservoir, a pleasant walk, is also just over the road.!

I stayed here for 5 nights. The hotel is in a great location for the station which has links to London and Southend Airport. The hotel is used as a wedding venue and weekends could pose a problem for parking. I did see some guests arriving late and struggle to get parked. There is a car park adjacent to the hotel which is free between 1900 and 0700 hrs.
All of the staff were friendly and helpful. I encountered a problem with the plumbing on my arrival and when it could not be repaired I was given another room. I did ask what the difference was between the executive rooms and the standard rooms and was told that all premier rooms were larger, with a larger bed and were situated on a quieter part of the building.
Free WiFi was excellent, the bed was comfortable and the large flat screen TV added to the general ambiance of the room. There was only one small window(with very limited opening for ventilation) and in view of this the lighting could be improved upon. The drawers were very strange and the interiors curved like a ski slope making it almost impossible to put large objects in. The executive room did not have a wardrobe. Only a hanging rail. The worst aspect of the room was the bathroom which was dated and in need of a makeover.
Only ate breakfast in the hotel and this was excellent with a choice of hot and cold food.
I would stay here again.

Room Tip: As for a room overlooking the car park as they are not the subject of road noise.
