We recently stayed at Gypsy's Casa Blanca in El Pescadero for three weeks. Casa Blanca's was much more than we expected. The home was spotless, beautifully designed, peaceful, central to three surf locations (one within walking distance). The layout was great for our family of three to share with a couple who joined us for the first two weeks. The 3rd floor patio was breath-taking - overlooking bountiful fields of produce, rugged dirt roads, and to the west, the endless blue of the Baja ocean. Soft winds cooled the midday sun and surfers skin in the shade of the hammock. ahhhh... Drinks overlooking the ocean sunset - GORGEOUS. (if you have young children, yes, as consistent with most homes there, there are lower walls on the upper patios so supervision is always required).

Mark and Johanna were amazing hosts - gracious, hospitable, wonderful resources and complete pros (always did what they said and got back to us promptly in emails or requests). We have a four and a half year old who adores them both. She learned to swim in the Casa Blanca pool with her dragonfly friends since the beach closest is not recommended as a kiddo-friendly swim beach. Perfect for her (& us).

Casa Blanca was a home away from home that we were so thankful for, and eager to return to. Thank you Mark & Johanna for making our family/friend time a trip to always remember.

Absolutely loved Gypsy's! Stayed for nearly 3 weeks and want to go back asap. Mark is the best host you can ask for! Will help you out as much as he can, and will leave you alone to relax and unwind. Very easy going guy. Unless you walk slow, its about a 30sec walk to the beach. Rooms are clean, cozy and always had fresh sheets! Kitchen is amazing, outside hammock to read and relax and the outside shower is perfect for washing off the sea salt after a surf!!!

It was so superb to be left alone in the house. The kitchen is superb, you can do the grocery and do the cooking. You can buy the tekila from Todos Santos and do the drinking. You take just 5 minutes walk to the beach passing by a superb garden with cactus trees. One can hear all the singing of the birds. Amazing nature fabulous place to stay. Done with taste. Nice and clean rooms. Spacious bathroom.

Had a marvelous time at Gypsy's. It is difficult to find the first time. It is actually in el Pescadero, 20 minutes south of Todos Santos. Turn left at or near KM post 62 (just befor the OXXO / Pemex store). Gypsy's has four rooms; two in palapas that share a bathroom 20 feet away, and two rooms in the building that share a nice bathroom. The main area is communal, a large open sitting area, with a surround stereo (bring your iPod), and a decent sized kitchen area for cooking. Everyone shares the refrigerator. The grounds are nicely appointed. Mark, the owner is gracious and warm. He has good knowledge of the area and will offer to help out any way he can.

Gypsy's has no ocean view, but you can hear the waves. You will have to hoof your cooler, chairs, umbrella and stuff about 300 yards down a nice path to the beach.

There is a nice restaurant, Rancho Pescadero that is a 12 minute walk down the beach. Otherwise, you will have to drive into Todos Santos for restaurants. You have many coices but double check your bill, a Mexican place by the park charged me exactly double.

I would recommend stopping at Costco or Sam's in Cabo, buy a large, cheap styrofoam cooler and get meats, vegetables, and libations so that you can cook at Gypsy's. There is no wi-fi, or cell service. To make calls, you will have to go into Todos and get a pay phone card.

Gypsy's is nothing like beach resort areas. No one will wait on you, but no one will try and sell you things on the beach, either. If you want quiet and laid back, Gypsy's is the place.
