“Awesome villas at a very special place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 September 2013

We spent a month driving the Baja peninsula, from San Diego to Cabo San Lucas, and Cerritos was, without a doubt, one of our very favorite places.

Just an hour from Cabo, the area (which includes Todos Santos 15 minutes to the north) feels a million miles from tourist hustle and bustle of the cape. With an incredibly beautiful and swimable beach, pleasantly temperate weather, and the most amazing sunsets we'd seen, we could see ourselves buying a plot of land here, or going turn-key with a bungalow at the villas.

We stayed in a nicely appointed two bed, two bath second story unit. They are large and well designed, and after travelling through a few dusty desert locales, they felt like the lap of luxury! All villas include a full kitchen, and huge balcony that overlooks the Pacific. It’s an incredible view, and wonderful place to wake up and enjoy coffee and breakfast.

Resort facilities are centered around a large pool with hot tub, restaurant, and swim-up bar. Wifi is also available. We visited in July, so the restaurant was closed for the season, but on the upside, we had the run of the place. The staff is friendly and helpful, with most everyone speaks English.

The villas are quick walk to the beach. I swam every morning, and every morning I marveled both at its beauty, and the fact it was nearly empty. On weekends, especially Sundays, it gets busier, making it a great time to people watch and hangout for the day under a beach umbrella.

Catch the sunset from Hacienda Cerritos, where you’ll spend a ridiculous sum for a drink, or for free on the bluff just north of the hotel. In either case, watching the sun sink into the ocean here should not be missed.

We already miss southern Baja and the Cerritos/Todos Santos area, and we'll certainly come back to the villas, hopefully in the coming year. Highly recommended.

my family of 4 booked this place because our friends lived right down the road.

miguel who checked us in was very nice & personable. we stayed in one of the single studio/cottages. on the outside it had a palapa thatched roof, a cute covered porch area with a table, 2 chairs & a hammock so you can cruise outside as you relax. the place had tons of character which we loved!

but as you enter into your cottage you have all the modern amenities for a comfortable stay. we were there in august when the weather can be very hot & the place had AC, walkin shower, western toilets, & a mini kitchen area with utensils if you choose to cook and a refrigerator to keep drinks cool.

Lupita was also very nice and always checked to see if we needed anything refreshed. they made us feel very welcomed & had such a family, down to earth style.

kids loved the pool & jacuzzi as well as the cute resident dogs!

thanks again & we will continue to pass on the good word about our stay with you.

I had heard about the villas in an ad they had placed in Los Cabos. I was pleasantly surprised by the great weather. It was close to 100 degrees when I left Los Cabos and it was in the low 80's when I pulled in. It is like this most of the year.

I stayed in the small bungalow. Small but adequate. There other other options. Later this year, some different style units will be available. June is the low season, so just a few guests were staying this week, but I got to meet a number of the owners, several live there most of the year, and a few come every weekend.

The staff was very attentive and helpful. Thanks Gain for the great service.

The beach is a short walk, or just quick car ride away. It is was nice to be able to swim in the pacific, ( not many areas that you can). Since it was June, a lot of families were enjoying the beach and trying out the surfing.

There are a couple of places to eat right on the beach. I tried the Cerritos Surf Club, food was good, as is normal on the beach, it was priced accordingly.

It is just a few minutes into Todos Santos and even closer to El Pescadero. All the prices ranges for food is available. You will need a car, so that you can explore the area.

I liked the area so much, I am buying a second home here.

We spent 1 week in April of 2013 in one of their bungalows with our 3 year old daughter. It was spartan, but spotlessly clean and had everything we needed (be sure to ask for plates, cookware, and cutlery at the front office). Every single staff member we met was friendly and helpful, especially the manager. Some of the bungalows have snow birds living in them, and we found them to be kind as well. We visited during Semana Santa (Easter week), yet this place was nice and quiet at night. The pool area was clean and pleasant. The open air restaurant area was great for hanging out and having a drink. We particularly enjoyed the live music. The only thing that kept this place from an excellent was the food situation. When we were there it appeared that the waiters were also the cooks, and that they did not have a full kitchen to work with. This resulted in incredibly long wait times for food- I believe we waited 2 hours for our dinner. Not a deal breaker, though, as you have your own kitchen and are in walking distance to several eateries.

My husband and I just spent a week in one of the 2nd floor villas. Accommodation was more than comfortable - plenty of room to spread out or perfect even for 2 couples or a family. The villas on the other side of the building from the pool might be a bit quieter. One thing I wasn't aware of from the website is the 2 bedroom casitas. Those facing the ocean side were very attractive. We spent the days walking the almost deserted beaches, exploring the surrounding areas, sitting by the pool and boogie boarding on Cerritos Beach. Relaxing but plenty to do. Miguel at the front desk and Lupita looking after the rooms were amazingly friendly, helpful and responded to our requests immediately with a smile. They provided information about eating out and where to explore. Restaurants in the area are somewhat uneven. We ended up going to the fish shop in Todos Santos a few times and cooked the best seafood meals in our villa for very little money. A great find. We will definitely return.

Room Tip: 2nd and 3rd floor villas give you the best view of the beach but some people prefer the 1st floor vi...

First of all, if you haven't been to Pescadero you have to go! It's impossible to describe how wonderful the people are, how beautiful the beaches are, how good all the food is...
So, after spending 3 nights at a wonderful but more "rustic" place I was a little frantic and finally relieved to find comfort with a touch of lux at the Villas. Miguel at the front desk is an angel, in fact every single person I met there (guest or employee) was a happy smiley friendly person. The price was well worth the great location (walk to the beach and surfing lessons), and I think a bargain. I spent a few nights with a friend in a two bedroom 1st floor Villa, and then a full week alone in a second floor studio Casita. Both were well furnished and very comfortable. I LOVED hearing the ocean at night and being able to see the wave first thing in the morning from my kitchen window and little studio terrace.
I'm hoping to go there again soon and maybe buy a casita.

Room Tip: not all rooms have an ocean view but all have great terraces to hang out on.

Unlike other accommodations in the area, the Villas are worth their slightly hefty pricetag. They are impeccably clean, quiet, comfortable, and Miguel at the front desk is super helpful! After a week of getting swindled pretty much everywhere we went, it was nice to feel like we were getting a fair deal. The villas are walking distance to Cerritos Beach, where we boogie boarded and saw whales putting on quite a show. They have large, clean kitchens, and gorgeous ocean views. And the hot tub was actually hot, which seems to be quite remarkable in Baja Sur. Half the hot tubs we encountered were luke warm at best.
