We stayed in the little cottage above the farm, with a beautiful view over the gorgeous farm. If you're an eary bird, just sit there, wait for the sunset and try to feel, that you're sorrounded by fossils, that are sourrounded by fossils, that are more than million (!) times older as onselves. They lived here for more a thousand times longer, than our Western civilisation exists. Feel it, and you feel this tremendous peace, what's this place all about.
And don't forget the three MUSTS here: A candlelight dinner with the outragous hospitality of Esther and her staff, the fossil museum (J.P.'s lecture was the most interesting, passionate and empathic hour I've ever experienced as a pupil) and Ponkie's medical plant tour (take fotos and make notes and throw away all unnecessary drugs).
There have been some more tours, but we unfortunately had just two nights.
Neu Bieuthesta: We have been backpackers for many years and this place seemed not too interesting to us, as we missed the authenticy of the original town. To much business there. But maybe it's just a prejudice of us, as we didn't spent time (or money) there...
An if anyone out there is acquanted with foundations in S.S., please help J.P. to found one for palaeontlogical work. He's the doorkeeper to a fossil-library which is unique in the world. But farming makes it impossible for him to life his passion - which is so important for all of us to understand history of this beautiful planet a little bit better.

The foruth MUST: The guided tour to the bushmen paintings. Step back in time to a peaceful culture. We all can learn so much from them! Thanks again for outstanding two nights at your farm! JP & Hester

Hester and JP (and friendly staff) are wonderful hosts. We stayed in Khoi San cottage which is extremely well-appointed and quite private. The food was great and the guided walk to the bushmen paintings a real treat. As was the opportunity to sit amongst the Hansies (hand-reared lambs), feed the calf and watching the sheep come home. It is a truly fabulous place to relax and unwind. I wish we'd booked an extra night there. Highly recommended.

It is always good to hear when guests enjoy their time with us. The lambs have been weaned and the calf is growing. Although little to big for the bottle we still like spoiling her with a bottle now and then !

Our group of friends spent two days in Nieu-Bethesda, going into 2014 with a hoot!
Ganora Guest farm was the perfect location to relax, enjoy breath-taking views and relish the exquisite dining experience.
The guest farm also offered a perfect base for exploring Nieu-Bethesda and taking part in the “Festival of Lights”.
I would definitely describe it as one of my best new year’s experiences so far!

We had a lovely time at Gonora Guest Farm. The food was fantastic, the staff and owners are very friendly and helpful, the kids loved the fossil museum and the swim we had in the river! They also gave milk to the lambs and loved it. Its best to stay at least two nights to really explore the farm and the area, we always love a visit to the owl house. And the accomodation is also superb.
Definately a must see place!

I am glad that you and your family enjoyed it here. So glad your children had the experience of feeding the lambs and a river swim. Hope they will remember their farm experience for it.

A visit to Ganora Farm is a fabulous experience and highly recommended. Hester and JP were extremely welcoming, the food was excellent and the accommodation superb. We stayed in the Khoi-San cottage which is perched above the farm and has wonderful views over the valley. All the staff were so helpful and friendly and we had the added delight of meeting Lulu, the Jack Russell, who accompanied us for many of our walks. If you are in the area don't miss this fantastic farm.
