We stayed at the Ivy Mount on New Year's Eve and we were welcomed straight away by Steve. The room was nicely decorated and we had everything we wanted including big proper coffee cups. The bed was really comfortable and after a night of merriment the tasty breakfast was just what we wanted with unlimited coffee and fruit juice. We were made to feel very welcome and we will stay there again

The rooms are fairly decent, bathrooms clean at least if not a bit worn and out of date, the location is good for public transport and driving, rooms have tea and coffee, breakfast is consumable. The biggest problem with this guesthouse is the noise. Because it is a converted house you can hear people coming in the front door and thumping up the stairs. You can hear doors shutting and then you can hear people talking/watching TV in their rooms. Worse still you can hear the footsteps above you as if it is wooden floors. It is bearable during the week (wed/thur) but this guesthouse seems to turn into a party house with people moving around at 2am, 5am at the weekend (fri)... I'd definitely recommend a Premier Inn if you want a good night's sleep!

I really hate getting bad reviews,It breaks my heart as we all work so hard, so all our guests have a great stay with us.I am so sorry about the noise you experienced at the weekend.we just can not help that? we have a Night Porter that walks around the rooms every hour to make sure there are no noisy guests in the house at weekend. But still all i can say is sorry!
Paul a very sad owner...

We stayed here 15 dec 2016, house 29 ( i think) room 1. It was a front of house room with a lovely square bay window which had a table in it. Tea facilities were provided with ivy house patterned mugs! There is an ensuite which has the biggest shower in it ever! Definitely for two :) Hot water instantly and very clean and fresh. The bed was reasonably soft but very comfortable - we slept all night. The tv was massive and excellent ! We didn't have breakfast but did visit the bar which was well stocked and clean. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly.
Ivy mount is just off the M62 in Eccles with free parking off road. We were visiting the Christmas Markets and the tram is just down the road ten minutes away. I loved this stay and would come back again in a heartbeat. I didn't get chance to see Paul this time but we were hardly in the room as we were shopping!
we would definitely stay again!

Room tip: i think all rooms are good to be honest.
