We stayed for one night last night and had a very enjoyable overnighter. The dinner was very good with excellent service and breakfast was delicious and freshly cooked, which makes a great change, as most hotel breakfasts are kept warm nowadays. The room was a good size and very quaint!! We would definitely stay again.

Stopped here for one night on business. Great staff - really friendly. Ate in the restaurant. Shouldn't be hard to cook a steak properly but you'd be surprised how many can't. This was perfect. Wine (as ever in Hotels) was expensive but they have a good range. Breakfast was superb. The hotel is in Wickham Square and is a wonderful setting with picturesque buildings all around. Thoroughly recommend a stay here.

I booked a table at this hotel's restaurant for a Birthday lunch for my husband. On arrival, we were met by a very cheerful and helpful waitress called Leona (hope I've spelt that correctly!). Unusually in this day and age, I was handed the menu without prices but as I was paying, my husband and I swapped! We decided on the Menu de Jour which was a very reasonable £18.75 for 3 courses and £15.75 for two courses. This included a carafe of wine and coffee. We had 2 courses, which was ample, particularly as we had a basket of bread which was replenished when my husband ran out of crackers to go with his starter of pate, which was delicious. We both had the toad in the hole which was also good, although it could have been hotter and this was pointed out at the time. Nonetheless, it was enjoyable. I had the cheese platter to end the meal, which was adequate and indeed we both had just the right amount to eat for a lunchtime. We both really enjoyed our experience and a lovely touch was a plate on which Happy Birthday had been written in chocolate with some little biscuits and chocolates and a couple of candles. I think it was very good value for money and we will be back for dinner some time. Thank you.

Very very very charming hotel in the heart of Hampshire.

Stayed overnight for a blitz week-end "drive away from London", and wished we'd stayed longer. We checked in late afternoon after a good drive around the countryside. After a warm welcome and introduction, we were taken to our "garden suite": a cute, cosy and full of character room. Just time for a little unpacking, rest, a "Capriccio" or two (they put a Nespresso machine in the room!!!) a visit to a relaxed pub across "The square" opposite the hotel, and we were back in the OHH restaurant. Table booked for 2, nice selection of wine, excellent 2-course meal, and impeccable service. What more could we ask for? Well... a very good mattress (and sky TV for those who need), good night!
Breakfast: like these post wedding breakfast (feels like you know every one) but late, with news paper & jovial staff...

Can only recommend this place for a romantic (or not) get-away.

PS: for the very picky ones, there were these milk capsules in the room (beside the Nespresso machine) but as far as I was concerned: who cares... Deco and furnitures were spot on, and the place was surgically clean!

Thank you every one for making us very welcome, and feeling so totally unwind.

Room Tip: room 14 is a treat... I can only guess that any other garden room is also a charm.

My partner and I enjoyed an overnight stay in this very attractive hotel........wished we'd stayed
longer! The staff were very friendly and helpful, the hotel beautifully furnished and very very
clean. Could not fault this lovely hotel situated in a very pretty square. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: We had a lovely spacious room under the eaves.

The Hotel and Restaurant is very attractively located on Wickham Square .Inside the Restaurant looks out on to a delighful garden and some of the tables are in the very attractively positioned conservatory. The downside is that is that the food we had at lunchtime was expensive for what it was. I went twice in a short space of time to test the quality and sadly it was average both times.

Communication is very important to us, so we thank you for your comments. We are, however, disappointed that we were not given the opportunity to deal with your complaint directly.
We use only the finest quality produce and feel that our prices are competitive, especially the Menu du Jour. A three course meal, with wine and coffee at £18.75, is a real bargain.
We are sorry that we have not lived up to your expectations, as we strive to deliver good food and service at all times.

Kind Regards

I have reviewed the OHH several times already, but make no apology for repeating myself. After all, things might have suddenly got worse...

But they haven't. We stayed again in October 2012, and if anything this was the best stay yet. It's nice to be recognised by all the staff and greeted like old friends. Room 6 was as wonderful as ever. The food was superb.

Whenever we come to the OHH we leave in a warm glow of happiness. Thank you to everyone there for making us so welcome.

Room Tip: All the rooms are different. When booking, ask for a description/recommendation.
