The barn is just lovely.Lots of little extras and plenty of the essentials.Sipping bubbly in the bath was bliss and it makes a truly romantic break. We were, however, with five others so this time romance was a little lacking but the barn has everything for all occasions and I would thoroughly recommend a stay.
We stayed here with friends for a long weekend in Feb 18.
There were 6 of us and the size of the property was perfect.
Upon arrival, we found Ali had provided a basket of goodies, fresh eggs, lovely bread and cake, chutney, jam and milk. Gorgeous fresh local goods.
We used 3 of the 4 bedrooms and found them to be clean and comfortable. Each room was nicely decorated and there were some quirky antiques lying around giving the place character.
Showers and bath were great, plenty of hot water too.
The barn has underfloor heating and a lovely log fire, never once did we feel cold despite it being freezing outside.
Kitchen is large and well equipped and has a utility room with washer and drier and fridge is kept here too.
There is a small room behind the living room that we used for our band practice but would make a great playroom.
It was a bit cold outside so we didn't go out much, but the views are fantastic and the barn has its own garden area where a fire pit is provided surrounded by benches, ideal for sitting around the camp fire with family or friends playing guitar annd singing.
Summer would be fab.
Wi-fi was ok it did struggle a little, but remember this barn is miles from anywhere so it was pretty good really.
Nothing negative, just one comment.
Tv in the bedroom.
Ok we didn't use them, but if your going to provide a tv please provide something bigger, these are large rooms and those tiny things are pointless really.
We had a wonderful weekend, in gorgeous accommodation.
Planning to return next year.
We spent a weekend here and could not fault the place. The cottage is spacious and well equipped as well as being quirky and very well decorated. The ensuites are wonderful. I would really recommend a stay here and hope we will be back in the future.
Stayed here with family for my father's 80th birthday. The area is absolutely stunning and the accommodation is beautiful and very well thought out for a large group ( eleven of us including four kids and a dog!) with lots of special touches. Lovely open kitchen/dining for socialising, large cosy living room with log burner and luxurious bedrooms and bathrooms. The hosts have thought of everything you could need from a separate drinks fridge to the dog bowl and toys and even birthday bunting in the drawer! We didn't want to leave.
Cothill Barns is easily the nicest self-catering house I've ever stayed in.
The Barn itself is extremely well-appointed and tastefully decorated - there is literally nothing missing and our stay was restful and enjoyable a result.
The setting is beautiful, with lovely walks right out of the door and easy drives to Hereford, Abergavenny and Hay.
Ali and family were extremely welcoming and great communicators during the booking process.
I'll definitely be back...
We stayed for my birthday and it was the perfect home for the weekend. It has s lovely warm and welcoming feel - beautiful bedrooms and fantastic communal area that are perfect for a special meal or get together. There is plenty of outdoor space and stunning views. I couldn't recommend this cottage enough - we loved it so much we didn't want to leave.
It has everything you could ever think of needing there and Ali was really helpful at recommendation for activities and places to eat.
Recently had a wonderful few days with the family at Cothill farm. A beautiful spot in a beautiful part of the country. For our group of 10 the Barn was spacious, comfortable and well equipped. Would enthusiastically recommend!
