Description: Genuinely old oak-beamed, ivy-covered pub, situated next to the attractive village church on an ancient road which runs through the village. The beams are festooned with jugs, tankards and hops and there is a fine open fire in winter. Popular with horse riding clubs, classic car societies and vintage motorcycle clubs. An unusual pub that serves food all day every day except Tuesday. Traditional English food. Specials on Thursday Friday and Saturday evenings: Freshly homemade pasta. Locally sourced game. Fresh seafood dishes. Beautiful large garden area with play area for children and 22 tables around the outside of the pub. High chairs available. Dogs welcome.

“Homely Pub”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

Typical small country pub with good choice of beers and well cooked home made food.
Locals very friendly and the landlord and landlady very obliging and helpful.
Good place to go for lunch when staying at the Ponsbourne hotel and want something different from the menu choices in their bistro.
Happy to return here anytime.

“Worth a visit.”
Reviewed 7 February 2014

As locals we have used the Coach and horses quite alot over the years and have to say the food has been variable to say the least. Always good for a drink. For the last few months my wife and I have had regular Sunday lunches and the odd mid week lunch.
The chef, at the moment, turns out consistently good value food. Long may it continue.
The only advice I would give to a customer in the small restaurant area is to avoid sitting on the chair by the radiator. Your leg ends up medium rare.
In summary, good quality food at a reasonable price, prefer to eat in the bar area. Lunch served from 1 on Sunday.

“Lovely local country pub”
Reviewed 9 January 2014

Me and my partner visit this pub on a regular basis. And always have food when we visit. We have tried nearly everything on the menu and enjoyed every dish. Staff are very friendly, polite and quick to serve even when busy. I dont really take our kids into pubs, but they had big play and were welcome. I read reviews aboit this pub and would have to say that they couldnt be more wrong. We love it here, and even more the kids do aswell.
