Visited Saturday 15th September, so impressed!
Only a small restaurant but tables ingeniously placed and seemed more spacious than you would think from outside. Staff attentive and knowledgable, especially Babs who could not do enough for us.
We had the cinnamon mixed starter and it was beautiful, obviously freshly cooked and plentiful. We had ordered two mains and a rice and naan between us to follow but struggled to finish after the starter.
We will definitely be visiting again, cant praise it high enough.

Visited here whilst staying with Friends locally Saturday 15th September 2018. The restaurant is only small about 34 seats so booking is essential really. On Fridays and Saturdays there are 2 sittings one at 6.30pm and a later one at 8.30pm.

The restaurant is unlicenced Licence so you provide your own spirits, wine & beer (which is no bad thing as you can take your favourite tipple), but, not soft drinks they are bought on the premises (prices are very reasonable). There is no surcharge for opening your bottles unlike other places that are unlicenced.

They do not take cards everything is cash only, it is conveniently situated next to the late opening co-op store which also has a cash-line(no charges). This is very handy if you run out of money or booze (or both).

The owner Babs (short for Babou) is extremely genial and attentive. His knowledge and passion for his food is admirable and her will quite happily explain any dish on the menu and its process. We were at the 6.30 sitting and every seat was taken and the restaurant also offer a takeaway service which also seemed to be very busy.

Now we come to the food , I have had many Indian meals over the years and I have to say this place is right at the top of my list. The portions were very generous and the food was excellent. It was very well priced and excellent value for money. Nothing was too much trouble for staff in the restaurant. The strength of spice for your preferred dish can be tweaked if you ask and if you have any allergies ask beforehand and the staff will gladly advise you.

I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area if they are looking for good food at a reasonable price providing excellent value for money.

Discovered this place while staying in the area and it is by far the BEST Indian food we have had in a long time. Fresh ingredients, little oil, individual flavours. The stuffed pepper starter was delicious and different and the lamb balti with a hint of spinach was fantastic. The only disappointment for me was location - 300 miles from home!! So sad I can’t have this weekly.

We arrived (all 7 of us) on a Tuesday, expecting the special offer available on that day of the week. There had been some confusion regarding this booking and we were initially told it was unavailable.

We stayed anyway due to the excellent reviews and to make a great evening better the manager/owner Babs then honoured that price.

The service was exceptional and the curry delicious. The Dansak is one of the best I’ve had (my standard order).

We are staying in a holiday home close by and when we return next year will definitely come here again!

Thank you for accommodating us!
