“A Wonderful Stay”
Reviewed 31 October 2013

We stayed for four nights to visit our son, who is studying at UCLAN University. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we had a Wonderful Stay. All the staff are helpful, friendly and happy. The food is great, the rooms are comfortable, spotlessly clean and little touches like fresh coffee, tea and biscuits make it home from home. We will be returning soon!

We came upon this hotel by chance when searching for somewhere to stay near Fleetwood. What a find! We got a very warm welcome and the room was lovely with views over the river. Lots of nice touches such as fresh coffee in the room and bottles of water. We ate in the restaurant. The food was excellent, much of it locally sourced, it was reasonably priced and the staff were very attentive. Breakfast was excellent too. A real treat!

I was recommended to this hotel/pub by someone who stays there a lot. They were spot on, great rooms, super clean, everything worked, bed was very comfortable and a unique room. The food in the pub/restaurant was lovely and well worth the money. The service I have to say was excellent, it was a shock to get such good service. If I am within 50 miles or so again I will stay again.

We recently stayed at the cartford inn and what a smashing place it is.
The inn , an old coaching inn situated next to the river wyre
Is every thing you could want from a country pub, open fires flag floors but most of all a warm welcome. The restaurant offers a great selection of dishes all of which looked scrummy, I had the steak which came with twice cooked chips and the best onion rings i've had in a long time.
The bedrooms were immaculately decorated and taste-fully furnished with a super comfy bed with every thing you could want laid on
I've saved the best till last, the landlady/ host and all her staff are brilliant,go and try it.

My wife and I stayed at the cartford inn this weekend for one night. We both stay at hotels all over the country and it's in our top 3. It's faultless in our eyes. The room was stunning, the food was fantastic and the service was superb what a great place to stay. We felt so relaxed and looked after we would definitely stay again. A hidden gem...

Stayed for one night, was shown to the room by a polite member of staff, he confirmed if we had a reservation for the restaurant and left us to it.
It became apparent that the lock on the door was broken and that it was impossible to lock the room from the inside.
My partner went down to the bar area and asked if they had an allen key to "repair" the lock.
A member of staff assisted and the door was "fixed" who stated that he would recompense us with a free drink.
We went down later to the restaurant and was shown to our table, we were informed of the Specials for that evening and we placed our orders accordingly.
Both my partner and I ordered Duck in a Grand Marnier sauce.
About 20 minutes later the waiter brought us our meals....admittedly I didn't remember that the meal was garnished with blackberries but we both started to eat our meals.
We had our plates for around 2-3 minutes when a rather flustered waiter returned and explained that these were not our meals and promptly took them away????
We were flabbergasted even more so when two Duck meals were presented to the table next to us!!!!!, the same meals that had been whisked away moments earlier.
It was later explained by another waiter that we had been given the last two Specials in error.
We were again recompensed with two glasses of wine.
The whole experience would deter me from returning but from the comedy point of view this is a story that will be around for a good few years to come

Some of the stuff is luck like the scenary but the rest is sheer hard work and pride.

From the moment I walked in, the welcome was individual and yet professional. The room was great - again individual rather than "business bland". The dinner (for all 13 of us) was really great despite the restaurant being fully booked (this was early in the week and reflects how good popular the place is and deserves to be). Breakfast the next morning was equally impressive - fast to serve the business traveller, but a great choice of local produce.

Big hint - book early for rooms and meals - they are deservedly busy!

Room Tip: Even room is quite individual - enjoy the surprise.
