It was really amazing to see two rafflesia, in this my third visit to the park. Previously I had only seen the rotten aftermath of these 'flowers' as well as the younger buds. Overall the park is a good place for trekking, though don't expect to encounter much wildlife. This is not Bako.
My only slight gripe is that you really need a guide to show you where the rafflesia are located.
This costs 30RM which is quite pricey, on top of the park entrance fee of 20RM (for a non malaysian) When asked if we could spot the rafflesia without a guide, they said it would be 'very unlikely' This is possibly true, however they werent located that far from the park HQ and with a brief explanation they might have been able to explain to us. The guide was ok, but he only showed us round for about 30 mins or so - showed us the rafflesia's and a chameleon. For the money, I think you could be entitled to a bit more.
