Oxwich bay has always been one of, if not my favourite beach on the Gower, so when (after 14 years and at a rather later stage in life) we decided to look at wedding venues it was a no brainer.
Right from the start they couldn't do enough for us, from guided tours to meeting us, wedding food tasting, complementaries and 24/7 attention.
We initially met with Phil and then Laura our dedicated wedding planner. Laura basically made our day exactly what we wanted, from putting all my wedding decs together, to staging the timing of songs and rhymes. Laura guided us through the whole of the day and paid especial attention to our little grandson and parents making sure their needs were met along with the rest of the guests.
Obviously they have a job to do, but they do it very very well. Nothing was to much trouble and they looked after us from start to finish.
This place is the most beautiful venue and the whole team made sure we had a day to remember which we will cherish for the rest of our days -- the food was absolutely fabulous as well and being able to offer our guests a choice of menu as well as the delicious cheese platters added to the celebrations. we had everything we could have hoped for again Laura and team thank you so much

My husband i and visited Oxwich Bay for a lovely walk along our favourite beach, shame the beach has disappeared due to the winter storms. We always finish our walk with a drink in the pretty beer garden of the Oxwich Bay Hotel, so shocked that a pint of Grolsch and a large glass of house wine came to £11.60!! When my husband queried the price he was told the wine was £7!! Shameful, Oxwich Bay sort it out!!

We stayed end of March 2014. We had 1 night in a static caravan as the hotel was full, and then transfered over to the hotel for the following 3 nights. Our room 4 was very nice, been recently decorated, the view was lovely, and you could sit on the window sill (2 adults no children in the room) quite safely with the window open and listen to the waves. Glorious.

The bathroom was really nice. Massive shower with loads of hot water, very luxurious.

The bed was a bit soft, seemed a bit old. We should have mentioned it at the hotel, but didnt get round to it, and besides, we were enjoying ourselves so much otherwise.

Food wise, breakfast was nice, a mixture of buffet for cereal and fruit and juice, then a cooked to order breakfast. We are veggie and the staff and chef were very accommodating with coming up with something off menu as we had had all veggie options. The food was also very nice. Freshly cooked.

I recommend this hotel, and location for a good getting away from it all break.

Desperate to get away for a few days and with the weather suddenly a bit better, we decided to take advantage of an early season special offer for dinner bed and breakfast for a couple of nights, mid week at the Oxwich Bay.
We were attracted by the away-from-it-all location, with the hotel right next to the beach as presented on the hotel's web site.
In my experience hotels normally present themselves in such a way that their location looks somewhat better in their literature than it does in reality. In the case of the Oxwich Bay, even though the web site pics are good, the reality is so much better!!! This was probably helped by even better weather then we had anticipated. The views from the grounds, and from our panoramic room, were truly astounding.
Couple all this with the attentive service, well cooked and presented food, and the relaxed atmosphere, and we had the perfect time.
One thing to note though is that access to the rooms on the upper floors of the hotel - where our panoramic room was located - was via narrow and steep staircases. No problem for us, but for those less sprightly might be an issue. But for anyone, the advice is not to take too much bulky luggage. I'm still scoring this hotel a 5 though as we were completely happy with all aspects of our stay.

Room Tip: If you can get a room overlooking the bay then take it. Can you get a better sea view than this anyw...

I've loved this hotel since I was a child, and last year I had my wedding here. All the guests were blown away by it's beauty and the views across the Oxwich Bay. The staff catered for out every need. My husband and I plan on celebrating our anniversary there every year!

Great three days in this hotel and well worth a visit. Arriving on Mothers Day and it being good weather, and with the beach less than a stones throw away and in an idyllic location, of course it was busy but that's expected. It soon settled down. There are good walks in the area, varying in difficulty and if in doubt about stamina, a walk along the great beach is perfect, as well as over the sand dunes. The view of the beach is spectacular. Most of the local limited amenities didn't open until Easter or some 1st April, but the hotel doesn't capitalize on its local monopoly far from it. The service was excellent other than an annoying wait on mothers day evening which required attention, but was well dealt with by the staff. The food was cooked to perfection three meals and all beautifully cooked. The room had a fantastic view and the spa bath in our bathroom was a luxury. There was a wardrobe but no drawers so we were cluttered with cases and bed cushions which was a shame. But overall a great stay.

Room Tip: Room 18 excellent views limited space around the bed.
