“Truly outstanding”

If the mark of a good holiday is that you don't want to go home, this is it. If the mark of a good holiday home is that it caters for your every need, this is it. Slade Barn was the most wonderful of holiday homes, and Martin the most considerate of hosts.
It wasn't just the complementary bottle of wine, Welsh cakes, homemade jam, milk, tea and coffee, it was the thoughtfulness behind ensuring that every comfort was provided. This ranged from the stock of domestic cleaning materials, toiletries and Ordnance Survey maps and shelves of books to a "guests' guide", showing recommended walks, emergency numbers, reviews of local pubs and retsaurants and a history of the barn's conversion. Truly outstanding accommodation and service.

“Difficult to see how our stay could have been any more perfect.”
Reviewed 9 June 2013 for a stay in June 2013

We travelled as a couple and booked with two other friends and our little cocker spaniel.
We were greeted at the barn by our friendly host and neighbour Martin (there are cows on the other side!) and shown round the Barn. He covered every question we had any that occurred to us afterwards were covered in the personalised guest folder, which was a lovely touch. The Welcome goodies were much appreciated, flowers, milk, bread, welsh cakes and a bottle of lovely wine which was rather promptly enjoyed sitting in the sunshine on the lovely decking over looking the bay in the distance. Bliss!
The garden was fully enclosed and our puppy was welcomed by the provision of water bowls outside and he was free to roam.
The standard of finish in the Barn is second to none, the guys are to be congratulated on a first rate conversion. Every need was met from dishwasher to under floor heating, the beds are also unbelievably comfortable with excellent linen.
Slade bay was stunning and although a little tricky to manoeuvre down (don't wear flip flops!!), we sat in 20 degrees of pure sunshine (yes, it is Wales) with only 3 others on the beach! Lots of excellent walks and when we went there, the wild garlic was out in force so we did some wild foraging too.
Had dinner at the Oxwich Bay Hotel one night (20 mins walk from the Barn), good sea bass and fab Irish coffee, a little dated in décor but the view over the bay at sunset made up for it.
Genuinely wanted to stay on, now booking for next year!

Really glad you enjoyed your stay with us . Just had a new dedicated BT line connected to the barn ,with own homehub (unlimited broadband) and access to bt sport .so WI-FI signal should be sorted. Martin

“Just perfect”
Reviewed 19 March 2013 for a stay in March 2013

We travelled here in March this year for my sister and brother and our other half's to catch up. We could not have asked for anything more. Martin has thought of everything, for the moment we collected the keys we felt at home. The 3 couples took it in turns to cook on each of the 3 nights. We found everything we needed to produce wonderful meals. It was even sunny enough on the Sunday to sit on the patio and have lunch. It is a lovely part of the world and we went for the most wonderful walks. You will not be disappointed. Just book it.

“Excellent holiday cottage”
Reviewed 27 February 2013 for a stay in February 2013

We stayed here for 3 nights as a family group, which included infants, in February. Cots aren't provided but there is ample room in the bedrooms to fit travel cots. The cottage is of a high quality with good facilities and at a very reasonable price. Martin is an excellent host, providing all the information we needed when we arrived - additionally the Welsh cakes and bottle of wine provided when we arrived was a nice touch. The cottage is warm, spacious and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The wifi access comes via the adjoining house so the signal isn't great, but that really is the only very minor issue. All of our group would highly recommend this to anyone wishing to visit this lovely area.
