If you want a quiet peaceful getaway with panoramic views of beautiful countryside landscape Hermitage ticks all the boxes. Jayne and Chris are wonderful hosts who take time to ensure your stay goes well, with helpful tips on local walks, places of interest and good places to eat. The breakfast is hearty, and yes the victoria sponge cake we were given on arrival helped us feel right at home. Quarr abbey is a lovely place to visit, the grounds are lovely and definitely worth a visit with a lovely farm shop, outside tea garden area and old ruins.

Rooms are modern, spacious and very clean.I would most definitely recommend

Room Tip: the Niton suite is lovely

My partner and I stayed at Hermitage Court Farm for the first week of July 2013 and had an absolutely fabulous time. Communication was great, I had contacted Jayne prior to our stay for recommendations for dinner as my partner was celebrating his birthday whilst we were there. Jayne had some great suggestions and organised a table for me.
The B&B is really high standard, we had booked into a particular room and upon arrival, seeing my partners height (he is very tall!), Jayne and Chris upgraded us into the Stenbury Suite as the room we had chosen had a footer and they weren't sure he'd fit in :-)
We arrived early and as we were moving rooms it wasn't quite ready so Jayne and Chris welcomed us with tea and coffee and a huge slice each of the most delicious home made Victoria Sponge, what a welcome!
Jayne and Chris are superb hosts. Jayne made a huge effort in recommending places to visit and places to cycle as we'd taken our bikes.
The breakfasts were immense! Superb quality and great portions with a really large selection.
The rooms were modern, clean, spacious, welcoming and great quality.
The location is stunning, 500ft up, with amazing views.
I would not hesitate to recommend The Hermitage Court Farm, and would love to re-visit.

Room Tip: I would highly recommend the Stenbury Suite as you get your own lounge area and the bathroom is supe...

For my birthday treat my wife booked us two nights stay at the Hermitage Court Farm.
The welcome we received was fantastic and the accommodation superb. Jayne and Chris could not be better hosts, we would recommend a break here. My wife has a gluten free diet and Jayne made every effort to accommodate this, which made our stay the more enjoyable. Stunning scenery and great walking. We hope to visit again soon. Thanks to you both Ian and Sandra.

Cannot recommend highly enough, wonderful setting, every comfort and fantastic breakfasts. Jayne looked after us so well and was very helpful in providing maps and information. The bedrooms were well thought out and very comfortable. We hope to visit again before too long.

The last two nights of our 6 week UK/European holiday were certainly a highlight. Jayne was a huge help from the very beginning, booking our stay all the way from Australia, nothing was too much trouble for her. On arrival she welcomed us with a fabulous slice of sponge and then showed us to the biggest/best room of our trip, VERY comfortable. Both Jayne and Chris made us feel so welcome, it really felt like we were guests in their home. We will certainly be back some day.

Just got back from a couple of days in Isle of Wight in the capable hands of Jayne and Chris at Hermitage Court Farm. Our first stay at this location and we really struck it lucky - superb food, excellent accommodation, friendly and helpful welcome from Jayne. It was a delight and great value as well.

We will be back!

Have just returned from a weekend staying here and I have to say it is one of the best places we have ever been. You can tell so much hard work goes into running Hermitage Court Farm, and every single aspect of our stay was spot on! A slice of (amazing) Victoria sponge on arrival, tasty cooked breakfasts and a comfy bed (very much appreciated by me and my bump)! Thank you for making our wedding anniversary and my birthday very special.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Hermitage Court Farm is the Isle of Wight’s most secluded and tranquil Bed and Breakfast accommodation: the ideal place in which to get away from the hustle and bustle of modern living and relax for a while between the green of the downs and the blue of the sky, in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.Perched cosily under the tops of the National Trust’s St Catherine’s Down, and gazing down over the beautiful rural Isle of Wight countryside towards the waters of the Solent, the ten-acre Farm is hidden away, well off beaten tracks and more than a mile from the nearest main road, on the southern side of the Island. From here, and from the Downs at our doors, you can see everything ... yet hear nothing but the odd rabbit thumping across the lawn, a pigeon chortling, or the woodpeckers dining in the trees. Our peaceful surroundings, however, hide the opportunity for plenty of action. The Downs of the isle of Wight are full of history-from ancient burial mounds and a medieval lighthouse to one of Britain’s most amusing Victorian follies - and full of opportunities for leisurely exploration. A network of the Island’s well-known bridleways and footpaths crosses various parts of the property, and there is direct access to over a hundred miles of the finest and best-maintained footpaths, riding tracks and mountain-bike trails in Britain.A twenty-minute stroll across the Downs (or a very much shorter car trip) brings you to the nearby village of Niton, with its charming shops and friendly pubs, while a little further on you come to the famously picturesque village of Godshill with its much-photographed thatched roofs and celebrated cream teas. The Isle of Wight coastal towns of Sandown, Shanklin and Ventnor - famous as holiday venues from Victorian times -- with their glorious beaches and their cliff walks are just a short drive away. ... more   less
