“Lovely park”

Onchan park is brilliant for kiddies. It has a wonderful boating lake, park for little kiddies and bigger kiddies, crazy golf and golf. Its has a great restaurant - The Views and a lovely café underneath that is great if you just need a quick snack. All in all a very nicely kept park where your children can be kept amused for hours!

“Good family fun & stock car racing”
Reviewed 31 July 2014

We visited the pleasure park during our weekend in the Isle of Man to see what was on offer. I think it's definitely more of a family attraction (we were travelling as a couple). We did however have a go at the crazy golf- never too old for that! They also had: boats, go karts, zorbing/'bubble balls'/bubble football, mini golf course, and an inflatable slide (plus a play park), so it'd be great for a family day out. There is also a cafe which sells sandwiches/paninis, cake and icecream- plus icecream milkshakes mm, so good for a small bite to eat too (although would recommend eating inside- the seagulls stole several people's food outside!).

We went back to the park the following night to watch the stock car/banger racing, which was something new as we hadn't seen anything like that before. It cost us £12 for us both to get in, and there was plenty of seats in the grandstands (although we sat outside in the sun!). There was also a burger stall there serving burgers and hot dogs, and serving hot and cold drinks. The racing was great, it lasted an hour or 2 and there were lots of people there watching and a good atmosphere on the whole.

We went to Onchan pleasure park to let the kids go on the go karts. This was really good fun, and excellent value at £4.50 for 5 minutes. We then went back the next evening to see the stock car racing. This was a first for all of us and a really enjoyable experience. Family ticket only £16 for 2 adults and up to 4 kids well worth it. Kids loved the racing - especially the bangers!!

“Stock Car Racing”
Reviewed 28 June 2014

I have been quite a few times to watch the stock cars in Onchan Stadium. Quite a few of my son's friends have stock cars so it's great to see them compete against other racers both locally and from the UK. It's only a few pounds entry and you can grab a drink and burgers whilst watching. Great entertainment for a few hours and we'll worth watching.

“Crash, Bang, Wallop”
Reviewed 5 May 2014

Visited for an evening stock car meeting at the raceway, which is part of the park. A crowd of about 500, many school-age teens, enjoyed the action, though by mainland standards I found it rather tame. The fields for each formula - F2 stocks, nudge-and-spin bangers, prod rods and ministox - were on the small side. The track is a 400m tarmac oval. Decent evening out, though, and something a bit different for many visitors to the Isle of Man. Onchan Raceway, opened as a velodrome in 1951, has staged stock car racing since 1969. The facilities are a little on the tatty side, but no worse than most in this budget motor sport.
