Our first visit to the Isle of Man and we stayed at Englewood Lodge for a week. This bed and breakfast is spotless, the place to be on the Isle. Margaret is incredibly welcoming and what a worker bee! Breakfast is superb, a lot of choice and do try het Egg Benedictine. I still miss it!W e were so lucky to have booked the best b&b on the IOM. Thanks Margaret for spoiling us.

As it says in the title, Englewood Lodge really is an outstanding place to stay, Margaret cannot do enough for her guests, bedrooms are spacious and spotlessly clean, with wonderful views of Douglas Bay from the front facing rooms. The Breakfasts are superb with an array of cereal and fruit to start along with a varied hot choice , with complimentary fruit and cake available at all times. The best accommodation that I have stayed in, in 45 years of visiting The Isle of Man.

Room Tip: Ask for an upper floor room, with view of Douglas Bay

We spent a very enjoyable six nights at Englewood Lodge. All aspects of the stay were excellent from the friendliness of the welcome, to the well appointed and clean room to the delicious breakfasts and dinners. The location is convenient for getting around the island and our room had a fine view across Douglass Bay.

The hostess, Margaret, took every opportunity to make our stay with her as comfortable as possible. Nothing was too much trouble for her. The room we had was exceptional, especially the bathroom and the view. Breakfasts were superb, wide choice of items, all well cooked and tasty. Definitely the best B&B on the Island, beats the highest rated hotels we have stayed at previously.

Couple from Pennsylvania.

Room Tip: Ask for a seaview room. The views over Douglas Bay are spectacular.

Really easy to find, despite directions given. From the ferry, keep the sea on your right and continue for a mile until you climb the hill out of Douglas. B&B is near top of hill LHS. There is only 1 road. Simples!
Run single handedly by Margaret who just couldn't work harder. Everything is spotless and nothing is too much trouble. You feel as if you are part of a family house rather than a B&B with great views over Douglas Bay. Breakfast is cooked to order, once you have ploughed through the mueseli and granola ofcourse. Evening homecooked meals are available if ordered that morning, although Margaret might stop this as she is too busy! They're also too cheap! Rooms are clean and amenities are fine although our room was a little cramped with sloping roof, but not a deal breaker. Hot drinks available all day and sport is to try and use the coffee machine before Margaret ushers you back to your chair. Machine is very noisy but coffee is excellent. And then there's the free homemade cakes on offer all day. Beetroot cake has just been put on the gastro map and I don't even like cakes! Plenty of parking and a picturesque 20 min cliff top walk into Douglas...it's a winning formula. It seems Margaret gets a lot of custom from disgruntled guests from the city hotels...you have been warned if you book anywhere else. Not much to do on Isle Of Man so sitting in conservatory watching the ferries sail out of the bay whilst eating beetroot cake? Why not (but don't drop any crumbs please).
A 1st class venue run by a true professional caterer. Wouldn't hesitate to re-book.

Room Tip: I think we had the smallest room with restricted headroom but Margaret offered to move us if we want...

My family and I stayed here whilst visiting the Isle of Man as we had been forewarned that Douglas was a little shabby. I trusted the reviews here on Tripadviser and booked, we weren't disappointed!
This beautiful coastal road property in Onchan boasts 5 fantastic en suite bedrooms All furnished to a very high standard, complete with bathrobes, slippers and Molton brown toiletries.
The entrepreneur owner Margaret keeps the entire place immaculate at all times. The Hot breakfast menu is quite extensive and cooked fresh to order by Margaret herself. There is also complimentary hot drinks and freshly made carrot cake in the lounge to help yourself to throughout the day. There is a lovely patio area besides the conservatory where you can relax in the evening whilst watching the sun set over the bay.
A hire car is a good idea if you arrived by air to enable you to see the whole of this lovely little island.
Thank you Margaret for your first class hospitality.
I would not hesitate in staying here again.

Room Tip: I was shown all of the five bedrooms and each one was fabulous. Four of them have a sea view.

Most definitely the best Bed & Breakfast we have stayed in, in the UK.
The food presented was excellent 10/10. The Room we had was very spacious and the bed crisp clean and comfortable. The lounge and conservatory are relaxing and give good views of Douglas Bay.
The very friendly owner puts everything into her business to make sure her guests have the best stay possible.
You must stay here if on The Isle of Man
