The location was perfect, the cottage itself was amazing. There were lots of nice touches like a bottle of wine and a bowl of fruit waiting for us. Thank you Catherine for a lovely break.

“Historic find, overflowing with added extras”

From initial enquiry to departure everything was covered.
As other reviewers have commented there is nothing forgotten in the provisions, whether culinary or bathroom related; it is easily the best equipped cottage we have stayed in.
The information provided in the cottage relating to the local area was extremely thorough and completely up to date, but the gem was all of the detail relating to the background of the building itself and the conversion work carried out.
Catherine and Simon are wonderful hosts and their cottage exquisite; perfect for such a wonderful area, we hope to visit again

“The perfect holiday cottage”

From the minute we arrived it felt like stepping into a home. There was everything that was needed to become settled in right away. Catherine came to meet us on the first evening and was more than accommodating. There was fresh flowers, a fruit bowl and all amenities like tea, coffee, milk etc and the cottage its self is very nicely furnished and well equipped. The heating and hot water worked so well and there were a bundle of fresh and fluffy towels. Great location for Stamford, Rutland villages, and rutland water.
We will definitely be visiting again.

“Primrose hall Easter stay”
Reviewed 17 April 2017 for a stay in April 2017

We have just stayed at Primrose Hall over the Easter weekend and what a fabulous place it was! The best self catering accommodation we've ever been in. It had everything we needed and more! We couldn't believe it when we walked in to see wine, local beer, fruit, box full of different teas and even an Easter Egg waiting for us! There were plenty of towels, toiletries & kitchen equipment. The owner came round to see us on the first evening and gave us great advice over where to visit locally. Thank you for your wonderful accommodation and hospitality, we will definitely be staying again and recommending it to others! Empingham is beautiful and Rutland is brilliant. Make sure you see the ospreys at Lyndon visitor centre (spring/summer), Normanton church, Barnsdale gardens and Burghley house, gardens & deer park! We also did a fishing experience with Rob Waddington (Rutland fly fishing) and caught trout for tea which was delicious! There's so much to see and do in the area and Primrose Hall is the perfect Base to explore it from!
