We had a pleasant drink in the courtyard and enjoyed the evening sunshine before dining. We chose to have a selection of starters, making our own tapas, and theye were all very nice indeed. A special mention must go to the Courgette Flowers stuffed with Crab and cooked in Tempura batter.

Interesting dishes almost entirely cooked from locally produced ingredients. The crab came from Cromer on the nearby East coasr. The bacon, sausages, black pudding and eggs from Wing itself. Many of the foodstuffs are also available for purchase so we went off with more of the delicious sausages and smoked trout from nearby Rutland Water. Service is excellent. Good local beers and well-chosen wine made for a memorable meal. And all in the setting of an ancient inn with low beams and plenty of nooks and crannies.

Nice welcome. Had a good meal when we eventually chose from the 3 menus and the special board! Too much choice really. Lamb rack too underdone, very rare. Breaded smoked sweetbreads too large a portion, and got a bit fed up with them to be honest.
Attentive staff without being OTT.
Could do with a bit longer between courses, service was very swift, we had 3 courses and coffee and were out within 1.5 hours.
Our table was near the toilets and if we go back I will require assurance that we don't have a table near them.
Quite a bit of noise gets through to the restaurant part from the 1 or 2 of the locals at the bar.
All in all enjoyed it and would go back.
Appreciated that service charge is not automatically added.
