Owner description: Columbus Park is an open-air historical and archaeological museum, set on 3 acres of Discovery Bay overlooking the ocean. It was named as such because Columbus could not find a source of fresh water close. The museum has recently been remodeled and now includes a bar and a branch of the popular jerk restaurant "Scotchies". There are also ambitious plans to further develop the museum in the future.

Came back down the mountain, part of the tour. Restaurant was good for their Jerk chicken and pork.
Not much of a park.

Our tour guide Byron made a pit stop to Columbus Park, the scenery was beautiful and you can take some great pictures.

This place is one of the most novel things I've ever seen. An outdoor museum charting the very birth of Jamaican history all the way to 19th century.
The very sad thing is that it appears that once the idea came about, that was that and no one really cares about the state the museum reaches as the years pass.

Missing pieces. Worn out displays. Fading descriptions. Much of the info can gleaned in more detail at one of Jamaica's many great houses.
This place needs work.
I wouldn't return unless some work had been done. But I believe in seeing for yourself so if you have a few minutes. Why not.

It's history from 1494 - Make the stop! You'll find some ancient relics like canons, corn buskers, water system, and original walls and architecture from the 1400's. Great Jamaican photo op, and a view of the ocean that will be worth seeing!

Although there has been much controversy over the accuracy of Columbus' conquests, there is no denying that this park is a beautiful setting with many interesting items to take in - great for photo-ops!
