We went to the Surna on a Saturday night. I can admit that the food was very nice, however this was overcast by the poor level of service.
Bearing in mind the restaurant was not full, the 20 minutes to wait until even drinks were brought to the table was unsatisfactory, especially as the wine I ordered was not what arrived. The head waiter was flustered & passed this on to his staff, who also became flustered as a result. They did not know who was ordering what, forgot to ask if ready for orders and even adding extra orders to the bill. Getting angry at your fellow staff and being rude to them in full view of customers is not very professional either. These actions from staff you could see as a direct result of the actions from the head waiter at the time, not necessarily that the waiters were poor at their job.
I have been to some spectacular Indian restaurants over the years, and hearing that this has awards etc, I can only imagine comes from the food itself & not the service and atmosphere of this restaurant.
