It was a glorious day, warm and sunny which added to the experience! There are fine walks, wonderful views in every direction that you look! There are places for you to relax and take in the scenery, also you can have a picnic on the cliffs over the estuary! A real relaxing day out in a lovely part of our region!

This is a good place for a walk along the former railway track and the visitor centre has a number of leaflets and maps of the park and some nearby areas. There are some open areas too which gives somewhere to relax and plenty of space for children to play and others to have peace and quiet.

The views across the River Dee are spectacular.

This has a visitors' centre situated at the bottom of Station Road in Thurstaston. There is ample car parking and public toilets. There is a large grassy area with ponds. Parents with young children should be aware of the steep mud cliffs. There are warning signs as these cliffs can give way. There is access at the bottom of Station Road via proper steps down onto the beach. The country park is also connected to the Wirral Way which is a long distance footpath and is also used by horse riders, dog walkers and cyclists. A great day out for everybody especially if the weather is kind.

You could lose yourself in the woody area or just walk along the pathways. It's quite hilly and can be muddy so bring the right footwear for your visit. This area we went to was Thurstaston but there are various area also part of the Wirral Country Park, also very picturesque and all very close by. One gives a walk from Thurstaston to West Kirby or you can go the other way. There is a pebbly and sandy beach near there and if you go as far as West Kirby, the beach there is very good. Also only 15 miles from Chester and 8 Miles from Liverpool.
