The Chestnuts is a classic English one-room B&B, run exceptionally well by the host Annetta. The accommodation is a reasonably spacious ground floor double room with ensuite, plus a small conservatory looking out onto the garden. TV and tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Breakfast is a varied continental (choice of cereals, toast, fruit, ham & cheese were on offer when I was there) plus tea/ground coffee, served at an agreed time.

My experience generally concords with other reviewers. Annetta is a charming and helpful host. Tourists and business visitors to London should also not overlook The Chestnuts, as it is a short walk to Hampton station, which is a ~40 minute train into Waterloo.

Lovely place, clean, comfortable and with a charming conservatory and small garden. Annetta very friendly and helpful. Fairly close to the station. Apart from being handy for exploring the local area, it would be quite possible to use it as a base for visiting London, as it's only about 1/2 hr away by train. Highly recommended.

We found this place on a website and we sure are glad we did. Annetta is the owner and she made us feel so welcome. It kinda felt like we were staying with a close friend or family, The bedroom is on the ground floor with a nice en suite bathroom. The shower was quite nice and had toiletries available. Breakfast was continental but by no means skimpy. The muesli cereal was delicious. Annetta was very helpful with navigating the local area. She gave instructions on how to get to the bus stop and the train station. The train will take you right into the Waterloo station from which you can go just about anywhere. The station is only about a 5 minute walk. Also there is plenty of free parking just across the street. There was a great little pub within walking distance and then there was the Hampton Hill area which is about a 10minute drive. Overall this is a wonderful and reasonably priced accommodation if you are touring London. The train ride is only about 30mins. I would recommend staying here to friends and might even go back again!!

WWhat a lucky find. It was like staying with family - the very definition of an english b&b.

Annette offers just one room in her home. Guests have the entire ground floor which includes the room where breakfast is prepared and presented, the double bedroom, ensuite bathroom, conservatory and garden (when England isn't enjoying a cold snap). Everything is presented to a very high standard. The room has a folder detailing current attractions in the local area as well as further away. The room is fully equipped to assist the traveller, including hairdryers and adapters, TV and clock not to mention the limitless supply of tea (including fruit teas) , coffee and biscuits. The bathroom offers a shower with shampoos and conditioners by Molton Brown. The conservatory provides a lovely space to enjoy breakfast or read later in the day.

The Chestnuts are a very easy walk from Hampton Railway station which offers a direct line into Waterloo station and from there the London tube system. Alternately, the Chestnuts are 2 minutes from the 111 bus which in one direction takes guests into Heathrow airport or in the other direction, to Hampton Court Palace and onto Kingston.

Annette is on call to ensure that her guests have everything required and the continental breakfast is a wonderful way to start to the day. Annette recommended itineraries for the day and restaurants in the area, all of which didn't fail to please. We would thoroughly recommend the Chestnuts and Annette to any traveller!
