“What a Find”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 July 2014

From the time we first stepped into the cottage we knew we had made a great choice. Our room was light, airy and above all scrupulously clean with freshly laundered bed linen on our comfortable bed. The views from our windows (and I guess all bedroom windows were the same) were overlooking countryside and the cider apple farm. Wonderful.
Jane, our host, offered us a wide choice of breakfasts ranging from a brilliant continental through to a full English. Wherever possible produce was purchased locally and was exceedingly fresh. Nothing was too much trouble for Jane and if you wanted something a little different she would cook it for you.
Burley is a picturesque little village situated in the heart of the New Forerest and is centrally placed for exploring the area. There are a couple of pubs, some good restaurants, a few shops and loads of ponies. Their are also some very well laid out walks and an interesting golf course.
We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend The Forest Tea House to you all. Thanks Jane.

Jane couldn't be a nicer or more attentive hostess and she serves up a splendid breakfast. Both cooked and continental are top drawer and only spoiled by the guilt of savouring my delicious sausage shortly after admiring Gertie and Issy the Gloucester Old Spots in the field opposite. The shame was that our visit was only overnight leaving us with no time to explore the surrounding forest.
We did however have time to wander 400m to the village with nice pubs and other eateries.
The family room was large and comfortable and actually a suite of 2 rooms and bathroom.
Parking at front of house really handy. No hesitation in recommending.

The good thing to kick-off with about this place is the free parking - a luxury in Burley!

We had lunch in the garden and the sun shone, people were milling about enjoying the gardens and it was a very relaxed place.

The food was very good - the burger was well-presented and tasty; Mrs S had the ploughmans and was very complimentary.

The staff are super-friendly and we very much enjoyed the visit. We will be back!

From the moment my partner confirmed our booking with Jane by phone we new this was going to be a pleasant experience. We were not disappointed. Adjacent to a cider factory and a tea rooms you could not wish for a better location. Jane was the perfect hostess and made sure that we were made very welcome and had everything we needed. The rooms were large and well appointed with wonderful views. A visit to the tea rooms next door and the cider factory is a must. We were treated to an excellent cooked breakfast in the morning which consisted of all local produce and freshly baked bread. We only stayed the one night but will definitely be back as this is a great base a longer stay in the New forest. Thank you Jane

What an amazing visit. Came down for the weekend, I had no idea where I was going as it was a surprise birthday gift. What a gift. Jane was an awesome hostess. Very friendly welcome, very knowledgeable of the local area. (Cost me big time at the bear shop Jane) great breakfast. Nothing too much trouble. The place was in an idealic setting with ponies running free through the area. Lots of local places of interest. Well worth a visit.
