“Excellent breakfast!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 August 2014

We stopped here twice while on holiday in Burley with our two young daughters. The weather was good so we sat outside on the picnic benches in the garden area. The staff were friendly and we all agreed that the bacon sandwiches and coffee were the best that we had had anywhere in the area all week hence our reason for a second visit! The lunch menu was very appealing and reasonably priced considering the location.
Excellent location and great place to stop if you are in the area. You can easily walk into the forest from here by crossing the road and following the old railway track which takes you into Burley. A real find, we WILL be coming back next year!

“Cream Tea”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 August 2014

If you do not stop at this café for a cream tea you will regret it. Beautiful food at very good prices. Just to mention the lovely waitress Karen. Very friendly and nothing too much trouble. Will be back if my waistline can take it.

“A good place for good food with pleasant surroundings”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 August 2014

Its a smashing little place and just what I call 'nice'.... nothing that 'wows' you, however, its unusual in the fact its all set up in a station setting which is all rather lovely and in keeping with past times.

Food is very good I have to say.... Our only gripe would be that we were given one cream tea and had to wait for the other two dishes that we had ordered in our party, so it was a little odd to be given one 'bite' whilst waiting for the others and especially as today has been very warm and the cream was rapidly getting warm whilst waiting for the other 2 dishes to arrive.....

However, when all the snacks did arrive, they were all delicious and we had no complaints.... Staff were all very friendly.

Its a dog friendly place and the outside is catered very much for your canine with water bowls scattered around, and the staff seemed to have endless amounts of doggie biscuits about their person which is fabulous for our four legged friends.

Worth a stop for a cuppa and bite to eat if you are ever that part of the forest.... a bit pricey some might say, but then you have to remember where you are and the surroundings you are paying for....its worth it

“Fuel stop during a bike ride ”

Sunny day so we ate outside and placed our order via the kiosk. Very busy but the grub showed surprisingly quickly. Very tasty and prepared us for the next 20 miles of Forest trails.

“Discovered by hopping off the New Forest Red Route Tour Bus”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 August 2014

Hopped off a stop too early and landed on the doorstep of this eaterie. Newly acquired by a husband and wife team, the scampi and chips were delicious and not frozen as a previous reviewer had mentioned. The beef lasagne was tasty but the portion size for one of my family members was too big. Friendly service was lacking by both owners. They appear to put up a barrier with new customers and don't seem to do small talk too well but don't let that put you off. They are still a pleasant looking couple. The young chap who waited on our table was delightful, very warm and friendly and he gets 5 stars for his hospitality alone (knocked off a star for the owners who seemed to find it painful to engage...believe me, I tried). You should try this tearoom as the food and drink were divine. Great place to be if you want to chill out minus the chat! I'd definitely return!
