5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 July 2011

The service was excellent, our accommodation was very very good, the location is a bit isolated but a perfect retreat from the normal hurly burly life.
The choice of breakfast has to be seen to be believed. There is absolutely nothing to say in detriment of this first class B&B.
We will recommend it to friends and family.

Room Tip: All the rooms are excellent.

Just a brilliant brilliant B & B. When most places say 'dog friendly', they mean 'dog tolerant'. Well this place goes beyond the call of duty; how lovely to arrive to a clean fresh dog bed, blanket, organic doggy treat bag, and a list of walks - of which there are many.
Non dog owners should not be put off however - the place was spotless and there was not even so much of a whiff of wet dog or a stray hair if you are not a canine carer.

Karen is a wonderful and considerate host who has thought of everything. The decor is beautiful, the breakfast delicious and the room so comfy you could quite easily stay there all day. And, although I would never want them to raise the price, its a bargain at 70gbp.

The location, whilst beautiful, is remote and you have to drive everywhere which is a little bit of a downer, however there is a great selection of local pubs serving great food.
One word of advice; the footpaths are plentiful but signage is awful..

My advice would be to book yourself in to Blue Bell Barn as soon as possible, but to take two things with you; A designated driver and a local walking map, and youll not fail to enjoy this place.

My husband and I chose Bluebell Barn so that we would be able to take our labrador with us. We received a lovely warm welcome from the owners, for ourselves and our dog, and were immediately charmed with the place. Our room was the Rose room - a lovely clean cosy room, with all amenities we could need - including a bed and towel for the dog! The sheets smelled of summer breezes and sunshine, and we had a wonderful nights sleep.

The dog was allowed to run around the fenced garden to his heart's content, and he was happy to mix with the resident dogs to say hello. There were places to walk him safely nearby too.

Breakfast was delicious, with plenty of options to choose from, if you did not fancy a traditional English breakfast, and we ate in the barn with the other guests. Karen was a great host, and we enjoyed home layed eggs from their chickens.

We only wished that we had booked for more than one night, and would love to return for a longer visit next time. We would highly recommend to anyone, especially those with dogs who may be stuck for somewhere to take them. Also we ate at the local pub nearby which was utterly delicious too.

I found the Bluebell Barn a beautiful bed and breakfast, the rooms were gorgeous, warm and stylish. The breakfast was truely outstanding, fresh home-cooked food and variety too.
Had a lovely weeks stay and would definitely come back, one of the best B&Bs i've stayed in.

Visited with my dog whilst on business, this is genuinely a dog-friendly B&B! Received a welcome from both the owner and her dogs, all couldn't have been nicer. Beautiful house full of character in a beautiful location, room was lovely and well equipped with tea & coffee making facilities and TV/DVD with a selection of books and DVD's which came in very useful - quiet night watching Bridget Jones - fab!. The whole property was very clean and tastefully decorated, the lady proprietor - whose name escapes me - was extremely friendly, good conversation over breakfast. I had a light breakfast so can't really comment there but judging the standard of everything else I'm sure it would have been lovely.
Plan to return on leisure next time.

On arrival we were welcomed not just by the owners, but by a very friendly white dog. We felt like we at home immediately as the owners welcomed into their home. The barn is very well decorated with an imposing hall where you have breakfast. The room we stayed in was decorated to a high standard and very clean. It had its own entrance and an ensuite. In the bedroom all of the facilities were of a high standard including a LCD / DVD tv. We had one of the best nights sleep we have had for a long time although a couple of drinks in the great bar helped us there! We would have no issues recommending this b andb to anybody.
