My husband and I were guests of the Santa Rita Winery and ended up having the whole hotel and grounds to ourselves for 2 nights. This is NOT typical. We were told they only let people reserve rooms if at least 5 rooms are filled by a group. The staff was top notch. They didn't hover but were around if we needed something or if they were serving us our meals. Being that we were the only two people there it was very very quiet. The pool is almost a 1/4 mile walk from the house but you don't even notice because you are looking at the fruit orchards, the gardens, the swans, ect. It was about 93 degrees F while we were there and the pool is not heated. It was chilly but refreshing. We ate our meals (and pre-dinner cocktails) out on the terrace which was lovely. There is no airconditioning in the hotel so open your windows (for second floor guests) or sliding glass door (for first floor guests) to get some air moving into your rooms. We left our room door unlocked since there was no one in the hotel but us and staff. Felt very safe and secure. We felt like a princess and a prince staying in this stately hotel. I took photos of all the rooms and conference rooms as well as the grounds and pool. If you would like to see them please send me a message. This is an excellent location for a wedding, group retreat or family reunion.
- Official Description (provided by the hotel):
- Vina Santa Rita was founded in 1880 by the well-respected businessman Domingo Fernandez Concha. He also commissioned German architect Teodoro Burchard to build his Pompeian-style summer home on the property with a neo-gothic chapel beside it. Two years later the renowned French landscape architect Guillermo Renner designed the 40-hectare park that surrounds the hotel. His sophisticated landscaping also incorporated Italian, French, and English-style sculptures. With 16 guest rooms as well as lounges and dining rooms, this boutique hotel strives to offer the best service to the most demanding guests in a refined, welcoming, and personalized setting reminiscent of that experienced in many of the castles and vineyards in France. Hotel Casa Real is located on the Vina Santa Rita estate. Its late 19th-century Pompeian style has been preserved, making this one of Chile’s unique historic monuments. The hotel has 16 elegant guest rooms, exceptional dining with an ample and diverse selection of our wines, and excellent service—all immersed in an exclusive and absolutely private setting.
