I had wonderfully helpful and friendly service at Hotel Des Masques in Anzere, Switzerland. It was excellent value for the money. It has a nice location on the village square and has great views of the mountains.

We stayed there in June 2013 for 10 days.....I can't say enough about this place. Room beautiful with patio overlooking mountains. Breakfast not alot, but very nicely done - coffee wonderful and everything most pleasant....

Woman at front desk a wonderful person - very friendly and most helpful in ANYTHING! We just hated to leave the place and would definitely go back again at any time!

There is NOTHING NEGATIVE at all - all in all - a very pleasant stay.

Room Tip: It was all wonderful - anything at this hotel would be fantastic!

We spent about a week there in mid-July 2012. Frederique the manager was wonderful as was the other staff. They were very busy because the Colombian women's national soccer team was there for the Match World Cup, leading to the Olympics. We only had a chance to eat the breakfast because it was a small kitchen and couldn't accommodate more diners for the dinners. The breakfast was typical of these hotels.
What we were impressed with was the service. Our plane was constantly being delayed from London. We were first at risk of missing the last bus to Anzere. Frederique arranged for a taxi to pick us up. Then our plane was so late that we almost missed the last train out of London. However, we did catch it. This meant however that we were arriving at about 2:00 a.m. in Sion. The taxi driver was waiting for us and so was Frederique when we finally arrived at the hotel at 2:30 a.m. She paid the taxi driver for us since we didn't have time to get swiss francs. On our departure, we had to leave very early. Frederique organized a wonderful bag of sandwiches, fruit, drink, etc for us to take with us. She made a point of letting us know that we could contact her if we had any problems.
The hotel is centrally located by the gondola. Of course, there really is not much to do except hike this time of year. There are not many restaurants, but the ones we ate at were impressive--The Grenier for one. A trip to Sion is definitely worthwhile.
Last year we stayed at a another hotel close by because our daughter who is on the New Zealand national women's soccer team was staying there. However, there was not any availability this year. Luckily, this was a much better hotel.

I am never one to write these kind of reviews-but I was so impressed by this little hotel and its services in Anzere that felt that I should contribute in trip advisor. Despite the bad weather in Anzere, the warmth and friendliness of the hotel staff and its nice facilities really made our stay enjoyable. We went as a family of 4, with two kids age 2 and 4, and I have to say I was impressed by the tolerance of this hotel for small children running around and dancing during breakfasts and dinner. The room was simple, but clean and comfortable with enough cupboard space to fit all the knick knacks one has with children. We did halfboard and the food was good-chef seemed to also know childrens likes and dislikes..my kids ate all their meals! So overall kudos to Hotel des Masques..we will definitely be back there again soon!

Room Tip: Ask for the room with a view of the mountains..abs. breathtaking!

Have been there in mid-June 2011. The hotel is situated in the heart of the village. Next to the shopping area. Staff - OK. Breakfast - OK. Parking - OK. Room - OK, has small refrigerator and nice balcony with table and pair of chairs. Enough space to have vine, cheese and fun. You can dry clothes on the balcony if you'll bring rope. We have done some easy trails nearby (Tzizere lake,Bisse Du Ro), Aletsch glacier (about 70 km, hour by car), Montreux (1.5hour by car) , one day in Sion.

Room Tip: From south side rooms balkony you can see mountains, valey close to Sion, and central square of Anzere. The opposite hotel is about 30 m far and lower (we were on the 3rd floor).
