Terrific food and great staff. We stayed for a golf break weekend with four other couples and this hotel was an ideal location. Nothing was too much trouble and we had an evening meal to celebrate a birthday that was perfect in every way. Comfortable rooms and a great pub atmosphere.

We chose The White Horse primarily because they are "dog friendly" however the total experience was fantastic.
Located in Overstrand, just outside Cromer, it is within a two minute walk down to a great sandy beach.
The food will not disappoint either. It is of high quality and a great choice at very reasonable prices. The breakfast menu (included in the price) is extremely varied too.
We had a family room for three which would have slept four which was very spacious.

The staff are helpful and friendly and made our stay a very enjoyable one.

We will certainly be going back!!!

Booked as a last minute via the TI brochure.
Super room (7) - clean, well looked after, lovely decor (the lighthouse is great!).
Staff are very friendly and helpful.
We ate twice in the restaurant - book a table as it's busy. Even on Bank-holiday Monday service is good. The food is fantastic and our waitresses were keen to discuss the food and recommend dishes based on their own eating.
Someone else has remarked the breakfast service is slow. It is, but we were on holiday, so were relaxed!
There was a little noise from the bar, but not a lot and certainly not intrusive.
Yes, we'd go again!

A very welcoming & friendly place with comfortable rooms & fine food. We appreciated little things that showed attention to detail such as water as well as biscuits with tea/coffee in the rooms.
Music from public areas not invasive with strict cut-off at 11.00pm.
Very clean & tidy throughout.
Excellent location in close proximity to the beach.

We will stay again on a future visit to this lovely part of East Anglia.

We cannot fault this village pub/hotel for its service and accomodation - even our dog was made to feel welcome. The breakfast was suberb - excellent ingredients (and mushrooms to die for) and a Sunday lunch to celebrate a special family occasion was something very special. Being able to curl up on sofas to read the Sunday papers after breakfast made us feel very at home and not restricted to our bedroom. A very comfortable and relaxed place to stay - and in the perfect location for exploring North Norfolk.

The restaurant is excellent and the food/service very good. We had two rroms both of which were on the small side and our bathroom smelled a bit 'toilety'. However, before booking you should check whether or not there is any entertainment on. We checked and were told that the music would be finished by 11pm. By 11:30, with the music still going and sounding like the band was actually in our room we finally cracked and asked when it would really finish. It eventually did finish at 12:52 but not before it was blamed on a complaint accompanied by the comment "there's always one" which, given our position immediately above the band, was clearly audible. This was not the end of the disturbance though as the TV and general chat of those who remained in the bar until one could again be clearly heard in our rooms.
When we informed the staff the following morning that we would not be paying for the room for the previous night they were very understanding. When we said this applied to both our rooms they were less happy but still deducted the cost from our bill.
So the advice is to check before you book as to whether or not there is any entertainment on the nights you intend to stay - failure to do so could cost you and your children if you have any with you a good night's sleep.

Visited in Jan 2010 for 1 night while working in the area. We normally stay in Cromer, but our usual hotels were closed for rennovation or full.

Staff were very friendly on reception (well - the bar which doubles as reception). Rooms are possibly a bit on the small side, but clean and nicley decorated. The ablutions are equipped with a shower rather than a bath. There is free wifi and plentifull supplies of tea and coffee in the rooms.

The hotel has a bar, which is widley used by the locals, which lends the establishment a genuine local charachter and charm. However the bar is far from a spit n sawdust establishment - quite a "modern" decor (too modern for my liking - laminate flooring really isnt a bar material - but thats just me !)

We booked breakfast for 08.00, but it took something like 20 mins to arrive (which may be ok if having a leisurley break but not if you have work to do...) however the food its self was actually very very nice.......

All in all a very nice stay - some minor issues (the bathroom mirror came away when wiping the condensation off it to have a shave) such as the time breakfast takes could have been better but overall a really nice little hotel I would stay in again.
