Just a few miles east of the busy seaside resort of Cromer is the delightfully peaceful village and beach of Overstrand. A short distance from the beach parking lot is the charming Danum House. Everything about this B & B invites you to relax. The large lounge/breakfast room has comfy armchairs. Our bedroom was spacious with a couch, window seat, dressing table and three very comfortable beds. Only £30 per person. Full English breakfast; good selection of cereals. The proprietor, Mr. Archibald Sim, is ever so helpful, recommending restaurants and other sites to see.

Room Tip: Ask for the front room with all the windows!

This is the second time I have stayed here, ignore the person berating this lovely, quaint B& B ! It is excellent value for money, clean and fabulous traditional English breakfast. Alistair Sim is friendly and helpful. There is no single supplement - a great saving these days where us single travellers get stung at every opportunity. Give it a go, in these hard times it would be hard to beat this quiet, relaxing place. Fabulous !! Don't go here if you want bistro style and fancy furnishings, its simple and does what it says - its a B & B not a five star hotel.

Room Tip: There are only five rooms and I have had the same once on both occasions but I would imagine they ar...

We were recommended to this very quiet -just off the main road B&B.

Having exchanged some preliminary emails with the Proprietor , Mr Archie Sim, we looked forward to our visit on Saturday 24/3/2012 for our overnight stay. We were having our own belated Wedding reception in Sheringham and had found this B& B after friends had suggested it. We have two well behaved dogs and this was an ideal location for us all.

Archie warmly welcomed us and without fuss showed us to the very large double bedroom suite that had everything we needed. Archie showed good interest in us and we had some good conversations.
We would recommend this B&B to anyone who wants good food {great breakfast} and good honest value for money. Some good history associated with this dwelling also as a bonus.

We would re book again when we are next in Norfolk.

Room Tip: Excellent family suite comprising two separate bedrooms and separate bathroom all within the suite.G...

Stayed at Danum House recently with my husband for a weekend break which we have done on a number of occasions. The rooms are by far more spacious than you would get in an executive suite in a hotel, are very clean and tastefully decorated to blend in with the character of the house which has a very interesting history. Bed was extremely comfortable. The location is brilliant just a short walk to the beach. The owner, Archie now seems like an old friend and has done since we first stayed at Danum House when he first greeted us. Nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast has always been extremely filling and really good. I would recommend this B&B to anyone staying in Norfolk. Have already booked another weekend's stay next month.

Room Tip: The room at the front on the first floor is amazing its so big.

I have to begin with an apology, I have stayed at Danum House 10 times in the last couple of years - but have never written a review. So I will combine all visits on this one. The owner makes the welcome really special, he is friendly and always on hand to help. The place is cracking, I do not stay anywhere else when I visit the region. I have stayed in 3 different rooms, the first due to some of my late hours I have taken the room downstairs by the entrance (which is ideal for those who want to stay away from the crowds - really quiet).
I have stayed in the double at the back on the top floor too, again really quiet and cosy.
The family room at the front of house, is by far my favourite - such a stunning room, again quiet but really comfortable. The breakfasts are great value for money and good. This is a 5 star place in my books, and i would rate it higher than excellent on value and sleep quality.

Room Tip: The large family room at the front of house is my favourite, a stunning room.
