I have lived in Canterbury for many years and the reputation of this hotel hasn't always been the best but last night Howfield Manor excelled itself.
We attended a Dinner and were wowed by the staff (friendly, efficient and couldn't do enough to please) and the food!
Mass catering is not easy and rarely good but last night's meal was excellent. Tasty, hot and nicely presented.
At last - a good venue in Canterbury for events. We will be back!

An excellent all rounder. Comfortable, friendly staff, exceptional breakfast, outstanding evening meals, great location. Very good value for money.
One slight 'beware'....room 16 is situated at the end of the party marquee. Music til midnight on our stay. It didn't bother us too much but I would imagine it could if you needed an early nights sleep!

We stayed for a weekend in February 2017. The hotel is comfortably and traditionally furnished. The food is very well presented and of a high standard, and the staff were very efficient, polite and helpful. This hotel is a good base for a sightseeing holiday.

The place is a maze of uneven, angular floors, creaking boards, and bits that lookout of place. But Alexander the Great himself could've rested here after a month's raping and pillaging, so if it's THAT old, the usual rating scale doesn't apply. So forgive the gap under the door, the dodgy windows, the fact that it is totally un -disabled friendly, the dangerously uncontrollable shower (Room 6) and the things that go bump in the night, and the Manor is a wonderful place to stay.

We dined twice...fabulous restaurant and great service from Mary, and the all-in full-on breakfast - included in the stay, is a great bonus. Top quality.

Great hotel, fantastic food, including breakfast. Room very comfortable and cosy. Staff excellent, will definitely stay again, we will return in late spring early summer when the flowers are in Bloom. I think it will be stunning. See you all again soon. Thank you.
