Took my son and his girlfriend for Sunday lunch on his 21st birthday - and couldn't have chosen better. The service was perfect, not too obtrusive but there when needed, very friendly and helpful. The place itself is beautiful, with a pretty little patio to sit and look at the menu, and inside the old well itself can be seen under its cover.

But the food - we had the set Sunday lunch, with choices including beef, pork, lamb, chicken and mackerel as well as a vegetarian option. All served with beautifully roasted potatoes, lots of vegetables and gravy that I will spend the rest of my life trying to emulate! The starters and desserts were equally gorgeous and the wine list varied. And they managed to come up with a birthday cake suitable for a 21st birthday without ANY notice at all. And all for under £20 per person. We will be back.

We went to the restaurant today for our wedding anniversary with our two children for a sunday roast. From the moment we arrived everyone was so inviting and pleasant. The welcome and service was excellent & they were all great with the children. The food was really well presented, tasty and good portions. The set roast menu was reasonably priced with good selection. After our meals we went into the stunning grounds of the manor house & they had outdoor games for the children too play with. A first class meal with first class service. Well done! We will definitely be returning.

Liked the food, the drink, the environment, the prices, the music, the menu, the service, the cloth napkins and starched table cloths.

Could have done with a bit more to eat but maybe I'm a pig.!

We visited Howfield Manor Hotel for Sunday Lunch today (Easter Sunday). On arrival we followed the sign for the restaurant which directed us away from the main entrance, on entering the Manor, it was unclear where to go.
We found the dining room and was seated by a friendly waiter. We ordered our food and were served with fresh warm bread and butter with smoked salmon appetizers which were very tasty indeed.
Today was Sunday roast day there were 5 for dinner 3 of us ordered lamb and 2 for beef.
The food was all freshly cooked, the potatoes were in my opinion perfect and the vegetables were very tasty indeed. I would have liked some cauliflower cheese but that's just me.

Our waiter was polite, friendly, attentive without being intrusive. Thank you Radu :-)

The dessert menu was very limited, Banoffee, fruit salad, Sticky toffee pudding, rosewater and lychee ice cream or Cheese board.. The puddings we did order were very good however, it would have been nice if the fruit salad was served with a side of cream and maybe a couple of extra crackers with the cheeseboard. It would have been nice to see traditional puddings such as apple pie, or crumble or even a little pavlova...

Overall, the roast dinner was very nice, good quality home cooked tasting food and very reasonably priced. The Easter sweet basket was a nice touch.

Thank you, will visit again :-)
