“Great place to stop for a break on the A2”
Reviewed 18 May 2014

A coach party of 35 stopped here for a break on the way to Canterbury. We only wanted tea and coffee, Sheila and her colleagues were welcoming, very efficient at serving us quickly with very good large mugs of beverages. The restaurant is large, pleasant, and in a pretty setting considering it is on a main road. I can't attest to the food but highly recommended as a stopping off place, and although it is on the 'wrong' side of the A2 if you are going towards Canterbury, it is easy to get to and to get back to the eastbound carriageway.

“Thank goodness Little Chef failed!”
Reviewed 18 April 2014

We booked into the Travelodge but we were not looking forward to eating in the Little Chef which we had used before. Thankfully the former Manager of the Little Chef, Sheila, had opened her own version called Sheila's Kitchen in the old Little Chef building.

The rump steak and the bottle of Merlot was fantastic and very reasonably priced. The meat was from a local farm and everything was fresh The deserts were gorgeous. Sheila's staff, Tracy and Jack were brilliant. They were friendly, took time to answer our questions, and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be back.

“A lovely surprise”
Reviewed 17 April 2014

This former Little Chef tucked away off the A2 next to the Trabvelodge tutned out to be an imaginative, very family-friendly, restaurant. There are lots of birds to see outside the windows, a tank of unusual fish, and a cosy corner. The food was excellent, with locally-produced pies and beers as well as some of the old Little Chef staples. A very pleasant surprise!

“Oasis of homely food”
Reviewed 16 April 2014

We stopped by in passing wondering if the new restaurant was anything like the previous Little Chef. We found it was friendly, with good service, and plenty of homely popular items on the menu. Overall we thought it was much better than its predecessor, catering for all ages, lovely pies, fish and chips, liver and onions and comfortable seating.
Importantly Sheila has retained the gardens so you can have tea and carrot cake,or a full English breakfast, a variety of drinks, and watch the bird life.
Great for a business lunch like ours with free WiFi and no hurry to move us on. Will schedule some business meetings here when in the area.

“Great breakfasts”
Reviewed 3 April 2014

We visited Sheila's kitchen as we had stayed overnight at the Travelodge next door. A very warm welcome, very good value for money and efficient service . The restaurant had a feeling of Spring as all tables had fresh daffodils on them. This was a very pleasant breakfast time, and we wish Sheila well for the future.
