Booked here due to a special offer and the need for a place to stay before setting off to catch a ferry at the crack of dawn the next morning.

Lovely little pub, cosy and warm although a bit empty (admitedly, it was Wednesday night in February). Food was lovely. Ample portions, well cooked and we managed a BOGOF offer on the food which made it very affordable.

Room was clean and tidy, as was the ensuite bathroom and the owners were very friendly and gave us instructions on how to leave in the morning and even provided us with a packed lunch as we were leaving before breakfast. Would definitely reccomend it as a cosy little pub. Only downside is that is its noisy and you can hear doors banging downstairs from your room.

The price was reasonable (out of season special offer) however it smelt like people where smoking in the bar (ok it was cold outside but family establishment/illegal?). I was given the wrong room from which I requested and I was locked in the morning!! The people that run the BandB do not stay on the site and I needed to get out early. They do not serve breakfast until 8am but this morning the owners/managers didn't get there till just gone 8.30. So both my son and I had no time for breakfast also was not even sure people where coming to open up and let us out. Would not stay there again, people were sorry they were late but no offer of compensation just the offer of a take away bacon sandwich which at this point I did not have time to stay and wait for it to be cooked.

Whilst the rooms are adequate and the food and service quite good what they dont tell you is that the bedrooms are directly above the bar and their function room. We stayed for Friday and Saturday evenings and on both nights the noise was awful and went on into the small hours, the "music" on Friday night was so loud thatit made the floor of our room vibrate. When we mentioned this we got the obligatory "sorry". If you are looking for a quiet weekend this is NOT the place.

Food was good both evening meal and breakfast but they need to decide whether they want to party or have paying guests. Two couples from our party were kept awake by loud music, loud talking and doors banging when we retired for the night. Don't stay here if you want a quiet weekend break.

We stayed here for 3 nights B&B. It is a beautiful black and white character building, wonky walls, low ceilings, lovely wooden beams. Super garden, safe for kids as enclosed and dog friendly too. Nice sitting room area with magazines put out and a lovely olde worlde bar area.

Our bedroom was a small double room with slanted ceilings and funny low windows. Small but nice with a very comfortable bed, nice bedroom furniture, nice big soft towels, ample pillows, lovely bed clothes, amazing huge power shower (best ever!), free toiletries, kettle, tea, coffee etc. The owners clearly went to alot of effort. Shame the toilet paper was not of the quality to match the room though, but this is a minor point. Pleasant owners. Cooked breakfast was fine, the other meals we also had in the pub were very good - roast dinner on the Sunday was exceptional. Shame that we were told all the puddings on the limited pudding menu were available, we selected and were then told they weren't available after all and there was in fact only 2 choices. We were woken up on 2 nights of our stay by very noisy guests returning to their room making a very drunken racket, but it did not go on for long and the third night was blissfully peaceful. This was not in the control of the owners I appreciate. I would certainly stay here again if I required B&B in this part of the world.

Room Tip: Our room was right by the bar/car park and I did think when we were allocated it that this could be...
