We first came here last year with the family and it was amazing so we came again this year and will do next year as well.

We stayed over the weekend from 28th & 29th of June in rooms 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 9, attic and loft.
(I stayed in room 2)

The rooms are very clean, great views & you get a very good nights sleep.
The staff are very polite and are willing to help, the service with the food was Excellent. We were served our food quickly and you could tell things were being run to a high standard.

The location is brilliant, just a 5 minute walk to a really nice and sandy beach which is also close to the shops and local attractions.

If I was going to suggest an improvement it has to be the WI-FI, although its free and it works its is extremely slow. Obviously this isn't a big problem as your out most of the day but if you want to upload an image to Instagram in the evening for your friends too see it takes too long or it fails.

But overall I think it's an excellent place to stay and we will hopefully defiantly be back for 2015!

Thank you for your outstanding review.

It gives me such pleasure to pass on reviews like yours, by taking a few minutes out of your day you have boosted morale and helped reward the team here for their hard work and dedication - thank you!

The wifi here can always be stronger, we have boosters throughout the building and the "ends" of the building are natural weak points - we are in the process of having this addressed and hope to have a remedy by your next visit.

Thanks again and we hope to see you soon.

Kind regards,

Gavin

There are 21 of us in our family which includes 8 grandsons who's ages range from 5 months to 15yrs. The location of the Lodge is superb, right by the beach where we played cricket and had a picnic in the sand dunes on Saturday afternoon. Our evening meal was served in a sectioned off area of the restaurant and comfortably sat all 21 of us. It was great to have this area to ourselves so we could all relax. The food was fabulous and the service throughout our stay was faultless. Everyone could not do enough for us. Breakfast this morning was wonderful with a good choice. The granola is lush. This is our second visit where we all get together and spend quality time with each other, and we hope this will now be an annual fixture at the Lodge.

Room Tip: All the rooms we had were great, including suites, superior and standard rooms

We just got back from a four night holiday break at the Lodge which was also to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The hotel is located on the main Hunstanton to Cromer road about 500 yards from the beach at Old Hunstanton. It is an old building parts of which date from the 15th century when it began life as a farm later as a family home and now a hotel or more aptly an inn.

The hotel has been renovated recently and has been brought up to an excellent decorative standard. We booked only for bed and breakfast as we wanted to sample some of the excellent eateries in this area. Our room on the first floor was number six and faced a courtyard. The rooms on the front of the hotel face the ain road and could possibly be noisy as the road while not busy was close to the hotel so we had asked for a quiet room.

The room was a bit dark as I mentioned earlier it is an old building but the décor was excellent and the room very clean throughout our stay, The furniture was in a light oak and the bathroom was very modern with a good bath/shower with plenty of hot water and toiletries supplied. The breakfast was excellent although the service could be patchy depending on the time you came down and who was doing the cooking as everything is cooked fresh.

The menu containsed everything you would want from a full breakfast to kippers, salmon and haddock. The fruit juice was freshly made not the stuff you get out of m achiness and everything but the cereals and fruit was waiter service. The first night we arrived ( Sunday) we had dinner at the Lodge and chose the roast beef which was enormous but the meat was bit tough in places. The Lodge is very popular at weekends and parking was a bit difficult on Sunday as they also cater for outside diners who compete for the car park spaces but it wasn't so bad in the week. There is a large bar in the hotel and also outside dining in the garden area for bar lunches. Overall a good hotel to base yourself for the wonderful beach at Old Hunstanton is just a short walk away and the sunsets are amazing and the North Norfolk coast line to other small resorts and larger towns like Burnham Market and Wells nest to the sea were just a short drive away. The beach at Holkham is also not to be missed .Dogs are allowed in certain downstairs room so this is also a good hotel for dog owners( we are not).I would recommend this hotel for a short stay

Room Tip: If you want a quiet room ask for one either at the back or in the downstairs courtyard.. Number six...

Thank you for your in depth review of The Lodge Inn.

We are delighted you enjoyed your time with us, apologies for the patchy service at breakfast and tough beef with the roast - both are comments we rarely receive but have been shared with the team none-the-less.

Room 6 is quite a quirky room and despite it's array of windows isn't as bright as you would expect, as you recognise our building is very old dating back, in parts to 1820. The joys of such a building mean that we have so many different rooms to offer, room 1 for example is a wonderfully light and airy superior room with super king sized bed, en suite bathroom with a separate walk in shower - we hope you will return to us and if you do, we could talk you through the availability.

Thanks again for taking the time to review us. We hope to have an opportunity to welcome you back again in the not too distant future.

Kind regards,

Gavin

We stayed overnight in a superior courtyard room. We were made to feel very welcome, including our dog. The room was very large, beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean. It was located in a sunny courtyard just off the hotel which was shared by three rooms. A perfect sun trap to relax after a long walk on the beach. The hotel has a large, very well maintained beer garden, with a lovely play area. We ate dinner in the bar, again we were able to bring our dog with us. The menu I offers a great selection and is very affordable. The service was excellent. As the hotel is just across from the beach road we enjoyed an evening walk along the beach, enjoying the dunes and beach huts. Breakfast was perfect, a good selection of continental breakfast items as well as fresh cooked options. Overall we had a brilliant stay and could not fault a thing! Have already booked to go back.

Room Tip: We did not stay in the main hotel so can only recommend the courtyard room. Very convenient if you...

Thank you for your excellent review of The Lodge Inn.

We are delighted to read that you enjoyed your stay in our Courtyard bedroom so much! The courtyard is such a great (undiscovered) space used primarily for the bedrooms around the edges. We have very recently created a centerpiece of herbs in the courtyard, our chefs are enjoying the produce as I type.

We hope to welcome you back to The Lodge again soon.

Kind regards,

Gavin

Have stayed here a couple of times now on business to the area following recommendation. Very clean and smart. Staff friendly and efficient. Nice breakfast
Only thing that stops 5*s is the price of the meals in the restaurant. Bit pricey for a pub.

Room Tip: The outside rooms are excellent. The Bottle Bank especially.
