“Perfect Peace”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 April 2014 for a stay in March 2014

If you are looking for peace, tranquility and wildlife this is the place for you. The fishing from Noosa is as good as it gets. There is nowhere better than Noosa Sound, which is up market luxury. The best place we found to eat is The River Bure Fish Restaurant; excellent. Horning is a lovely little place to stay.

“Heavan on Earth”

We had seen Noosa sound cottage from cruising on the river and decided it looked a delightful place to stay,
We looked it up on the internet and very much liked what we saw and booked it for a week’s holiday for July 2014, dealing with Val was simple and a pleasure as she kept us informed of everything during the booking process.
Well our breath was quite taken away when we actually arrived and saw how beautiful it actually was from the moment we crossed the private bridge that led to the cottage, we passed the family of swans resting on their nest at the edge of the inner mooring.
Noosa Sound cottage lived up to and surpassed my dreams, it was absolutely immaculate, cosy and comfortable, every room was filled with everything you would ever need and more.
My words to my husband were “I think I’ve died and gone to heaven”
The views from the large patio windows took in the beauty of the gardens leading down to the river, where many happy hours were spent catching fish by my husband.
We spent a very relaxing time enjoying the lovely garden which was so well maintained, we enjoyed many happy lunches & drinks reading, relaxing and soaking up the lovely tranquility.
We watched with interest the family of swans going about the daily activities with the signets growing bigger each day.
We enjoyed walking into the village and getting our daily fresh rolls cold meats and provisions from the array of wonderful local shops, stopping on our way for a drink or two at the village pub (New Inn) before heading back to our cottage.
I don’t think you could ask for more, the setting, the comfort, the sheer beauty of the cottage and its large gardens, the relaxing atmosphere, wildlife and of course the fishing.
Thanks Val and Ian for allowing us to enjoy your wonderful cottage, we will be coming back as often as we can.

“Lovely location and very comfortable”

If you are after a peaceful holiday, as my husband and I were, in a fully equipped, spotlessly clean and comfortable holiday home, then Noosa is the place to go. Having spent three holidays at Noosa we would not hesitate to return again. The owners have thought of everything and a welcome tray awaited our arrival. We found the village of Horning very picturesque where you can enjoy a cup of coffee, a delightful lunch or evening meal. The delicatessen had a good selection of cooked meats, cheeses and a lovely array of homemade cakes you can buy by the generous slice), which we enjoyed many an afternoon with a cup of tea sitting on the decking around the bungalow or relaxing in the lovely garden at the water’s edge. Together with a butcher’s, newsagents and general store Horning has it all and only a few minutes’ walk away.
Even on a dull afternoon sitting in the comfortable lounge with its panoramic views of the lagoon to one side and the river Bure directly in front did not spoil our enjoyment at Noosa. There is always something to watch, be it the variety of ducks, including a pair of swans, all who love to be fed, on the lagoon or just watching the yachts, canoes and several times a day the paddle steamer going by.
We didn’t hire a boat, but for anybody staying with a boat there is a private mooring and if you are a fisherman, plenty of fishing to be had. If, like us you just want a relaxing break then Noosa ticks all the boxes.

“Perfect peaceful break away!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 March 2014 for a stay in February 2014

Having booked Noosa Sound several times over the last couple of years it has
become home away from home. Living a busy lifestyle it's lovely to wake up
and enjoy breakfast overlooking the lagoon in peace and quiet. It's well
equipped clean and cosy. The village is a short walk away with a few pubs
and a lovely fresh fish restaurant. Ticks all the boxes for a peaceful break
away! My next visit cannot come soon enough.

“Wonderful peaceful retreat!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 November 2013 for a stay in March 2013

We stayed at Noosa sound for my husbands birthday weekend and found it to be a wonderful setting being surrounded by wildlife habitat. The cottage itself is comfortable and very well equipped and considering it was snowing outside for some of our stay the heating was very effective!!! It is surrounded by water with the river on one side and a lagoon on the other. From the cottage we watched a whole variety of bird life and we are told that from time to time an otter can be seen in the lagoon though we weren't lucky enough to see it ourselves. The village of Horning is within easy walking distance and contains a good pub and superb fish restaurant. We would be pleased to recommend this holiday cottage to anybody.

“Private, very clean and comfortable lodge in a tranquil riverside location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 October 2013 for a stay in October 2013

From our first contact with owner Val, the ' Noosa Sound' experience was excellent. The single storey lodge is very clean and well organised and has everything required for a comfortable stay. The setting is private, almost surrounded by water and sheltered by many mature trees. The constant parade of wildlife is utterly absorbing. Most of our ' places to go' list was not accomplished, as we succumbed to Norfolk time. The village amenities are good, great deli, friendly post office and good pub food. We will be going back.
