“Fantastic treat in the dales”
Reviewed 7 May 2012

We spent a wonderful weekend in Tipperthwaite Barn, the accommodation looks newly refurbed with a fully functional kitchen to use whenever you want. I especially liked the easy feel of the accommodation, you didn't feel the need to hide away in your bedroom, although the views from the view were unbelievable!
I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a break away.

Room Tip: We had the upstairs room, which was wonderful and unbelievable views.

This B&B was beautiful with a fully functional kitchen and a living room available to 2 bedrooms. The bedroom we were in (twin downstairs) was very nicely decorated and had a lovely little shower room with shampooo and shower gel. The breakfast each morning was very good, cereals, fruit and yoghurt followed by a full English.
It is a great location for a weekend wandering in the dales.
The only potential drawback is that there is nowhere for dinner in realistic walking distance but we planned ahead and took food and wine and stayed in.

The two rooms are exceptionally comfortable and well equipped and come "free" with a fully equipped kitchen and comfortable lounge. This is equipped more like a self-catering cottage than a B&B.

There is an outside patio where you can sit in the evening or move inside and sit in the lounge. Both bedrooms are delightfully furnished.

We stayed here whilst cycling the Way of the Roses from Morecambe to Bridlington and there was secure storage for bikes as well.

Room Tip: Book both rooms to have a delightful suite

On a two week charity cycle ride, this had to be one of our favourite overnight stops.
The location is stunning; it is remote and this gives it a peaceful quality.
The property itself is lovely - a purpose built extension that looks brand new, with excellent facilities and lovely comfortable beds.
We were let down badly by another local B&B and Tipperthwaite came to our rescue - our good fortune!
The owners are excellent hosts and once they have welcomed you into the barn, they leave you to your own devices - in the nicest possible way. It is like having a home away from home and i have to admit to taking some decor ideas too - it is so well decorated and laid out.
We cooked for ourselves in the evening and the kitchen facilities are great.
Breakfast was delicious and it was like the fairies had been when we came down to find the table set and ready for us.
I would recommend an extended stay at Tipperthwaite - it is great.

Room Tip: All rooms great!

Stayed here on the Way of the Roses cycle route. It's about three miles from Settle and a mile (uphill) from Giggleswick station, so a bit off the beaten track. But the accommodation is of a high standard, in a modern, well-designed extension to the main house that is in keeping with the architecture of the region. The two en-suite bedrooms share use of a comfortable living-room and kitchen. It's a good idea to bring your own food for the evening, otherwise the nearest meal is a mile away at the (good) Craven Arms. Breakfast is served however and is also of a high standard. Apart from a few horses stabled outside and sheep further afield, there's no-one or nothing around, so a good night's sleep is guaranteed (especially if you've cycled 45 miles to get there).
