We needed a large property for friends and family as it was my 60th birthday gathering. Trying to find a suitable place is quite difficult and some years ago we stumbled across this place on a walk. Booked it when we got home and David has been excellent ever since and during our stay. None of our party had any moans about the house as it completely fitted the bill. Views across to Settle and fells lovely to wake up to. Had a bar-b-q and sat outside plenty of plates, glasses et al. Ok it could do with a touch up here and there if I was to be over critical, but it didn't detract from the overall pleasure of the house and its location. Would also recommend Lucy for her dinners excellent and more than enough to eat.

Lovely house in a lovely setting. Close to shops and other amenities. The accommodation was excellent.

We stayed at the house with some friends to celebrate my girlfriends birthday, we all had an amazing time here, the house is beautiful and easily accommodated our group, the kitchen was brilliant for cooking for lots of people, we cooked two whole salmons in the oven, the surrounding area is beautiful and great for walking, we came in January but hope to get the group back together to stay again in the summer, there are also good pubs within easy walking distance, David was great at communication and helpful during our stay, I would definitely recommend staying here

The house is a delight. The kitchen is great for group cooking and there is a great dining room, snug, lounge etc. It's a great base for walking in Yorkshire (and for strolls into Giggleswick and Settle) and the outside spaces are lovely in the sunshine. Bedrooms are varied, comfortable and decorated in keeping with the house. Superb views from the house and gardens complete the property. Gets better every year. Thank you.

We arrived for a weekend with 14 friends and what a lovely surprise, the house is beautiful and the furnishings keep in character with its age, the only thing which would enhance it is sofas in the front room, comfortable lounge about ones. We spent the first evening dining and getting to know one another. We knew everyone of course as the organisers. We had ordered lasagne in the fridge as per the website and what a treat it was lovely we had a veggie version too :). We spent Saturday roaming the local area using the varied walk books in the snug. We met back up at the local down the bottom of the road for a swift pint before walking back to the house as we had ordered in dinner prepared, served and cleared away. Yum yum although a pie option might be good, we had roast dinner. Lucy and her team were great. On Sunday people left and we stayed for the final evening, the owner helped us to choose an indian with menus and we had a nice evening snuggled up before the open fires.

The weather was lovely and we had breakfast watching the trains go past sat outside..

The bedrooms were fantastic and the choice is difficult as they all have their own unique specialities.

Everyone loved the house and had the best weekend ever, it was a late celebration on my husbands 50 birthday.

The cleaners were there when we arrived and as we left and were realy friendly and took great pride in hearing how lovely the house was, we felt they enjoyed having us as much as we enjoyed staying.

I would recommend this to anyone and hope to return at some point we just need a reason to get together again, or perhaps we should just find one.

We have had two extended family weekends at Woodlands, in 2013 and 2014. The house is full of character and was perfect for our group of 18, aged 6 months to 71 years old. Great service from David and his staff, would recommend having meals prepared for arrival and/or celebratory dinner as we did. Lots of interesting places to walk from the house, and Settle is a charming little town.
