19 of us , from 4 families, stayed at The Woodlands for half term week to celebrate a 60 th Birthday . The house is truly magnificent with heaps of space. Fantastic views. Great walks from the door and the train station just 15 mins away It is also within a short walking distance of 5 lovely pubs and Settle village.

The house has been tastefully furnished and has very comfortable beds with luxury linen I cannot recommend this place enough. The attention to detail was remarkable. It was as if the Edwardian family and servants had just left ......

“Excellent home for our Family gathering.”

I booked Woodlands to accommodate 12 of us and the location, space for parking on the drive and stunning views (weather permitting) was perfect.

Having the majority of the bedrooms with ensuite facilities significantly helped when getting ready to go out for our evening meal. Good central heating and open fire option adds to the cosiness of this home. Having a main kitchen and additional kitchen/utility room was very useful with plenty of glasses, crockery, utensils. Separate boot/outdoor clothing room was very welcome.

We would book again and recommend it.

Just a few things that could be enhanced. Beds with foot board are a little restrictive for taller people, sofas in lounge would benefit from having a higher back to them and some saucepans needed replacing.

Thank you to David and his team of helpers.

Stayed for three nights recently, really the best thing about this place are the awesome views. The house, rooms and bathrooms are reasonably clean..but need to be spruced up in places, curtains in particular. But I must say we had a great time in the house. I would recommend for a family get together.

“Perfect House for our Family Celebration”

We booked Woodlands for a long weekend In April for a family celebration, 12 Of us in all. It proved to be the perfect location, with a spacious garden giving freedom for the children (and their dog) to play outdoors. We all appreciated the wonderful views! The rooms in this beautiful house were tastefully decorated and furnished, in keeping with the character of the building and the kitchen facilities made for very easy catering.
We so enjoyed our stay at Woodlands and look forward to returning on future occasions!

“If you want character, comfort, warmth and a well loved feel, this is the house for you.”

We had a family get together over New Year 16/17. There were 20 of us - 14 adults and 6 children, including couples, children, singles and a disability requirement. Everybody was so impressed with the how clean the house was and the little touches that had been made to make it welcoming. The huge Christmas tree was lovely, the character of this old house really shone through, the large dining room with added candles a real bonus, the beds were comfortable, the water always hot and there was exactly the right number of rooms for everyone. We had two seven year olds on the floor in one bedroom and our two year old grandaughter in a cot in another (all agreed beforehand). It was perfect and everyone said they would like to repeat the experience.
The bedroom on the ground floor worked really well and is only a short distance from a wet rom with toilet with easy level access to all the downstairs rooms in regular use.
A super spot with stunning views and close to the town and local pub. The owner couldn't be more helpful and both he and his team of dedicated domestics clearly love the house and we couldn't have made a better choice.
