What can we add to what has already been said. Suffice to say that the standards are being excellently maintained.

We stayed for 1 night on the 29th August. From the moment we arrived Claire, the owner, made us feel really welcome. In fact throughout our short stay she was very interactive with ourselves and all customers.

The rooms were very well presented and above all the bed was exceptionally comfortable.

Dinner in the evening ticked all the boxes. A menu which had enough choices to satisfy virtually every taste, served promptly , with very good sized portions and very tasty.

There's no doubt we would recommend the Blacksmiths to anyone.

Went here when we were visiting Griffon Forest, it's very popular and there was only one table left. The food was good and the service was fast, there is a specials board which is worth a look at. The meal was not expensive and the wine list was good I would visit again.

Room Tip: Book a table first..

Have recently returned home after a couple of days racing at York and a couple of nights spent at the Blacksmith's Arms. Felt compelled to add to the great reviews as I totally agree. Comfy spacious room, friendly atmosphere, excellent evening menu, plenty of choice on the specials board, attentive service from the whole team (seems unfair to single anyone out - but thanks Ava!), and a great cooked breakfast prepared by Flaxton's superwoman jill-of-all-trades Claire ( the owner) A bit far out for race goers but it's worth the extra effort (even on Ebor day it was only 20 mins to the Knavesmire so likewise to the many attractions York has to offer) A return visit is odds on!

We stayed for 2 nights at the Blacksmith Arms and had a great stay. The rooms are really comfy (2 great nights sleep) and the breakfasts were really tasty - and locally sourced. Claire was very friendly and helpful and very kindly put together a late night cheese plate for us on arrival, which was much appreciated! Great B&B, recommend!
