Great food, comfortable rooms and lovely surroundings. It's always a pleasure to stay at L'Ile de Sees. Nicholas was welcoming as ever, and very helpful in accommodating an extra person on our return journey.

The hotel is situated within lovely grounds in a very quiet rural setting, yet within a five minute drive of the motorway and the interesting and historic town of Sees. We have stayed here overnight on our way to and from our annual holiday destination for the last eight years, We love the warm welcome we receive from Nicholas, and really appreciate the high standard of comfort and cleanliness of the rooms, which are light, airy and of a good size.

The garden patio is a lovely venue for a drink before the evening meal in the stylish restaurant. The food is always beautifully prepared and presented, with items locally sourced and of top quality. Service is excellent. Breakfast fayre is varied with breads, meats, eggs, cheeses and pastries on offer, together with freshly prepared juices, coffee and tea.

The ambience of this hotel suits us very well - usually quite busy, but never noisy, and always very good value.

Thank you Nicholas for another enjoyable start and end to our French summer holiday - we'll be back next year!

Room Tip: Some rooms overlook the garden patio. Some overlook the front garden area and car parking. There are...

We 3, husband, son and myself stayed here for one night. My son 15 had his own room given at a discounted rate. We were greeted warmly and with humour by the proprietor after arriving late due to traffic. He speaks very good English.
A delicious dinner in the pretty dining room with plenty of choice...challenging our limited French cuisine vocab!
Our rooms were clean and we all slept well before enjoying a good breakfast with plenty of coffee, pastries, cereal and cheese on offer.
Would happily recommend and return.

This is the perfect stopover en route to the SW from Calais - 5 minutes from the motorway yet beautiful tranquil setting with excellent local food and charming proprietor. We felt warmly welcomed in this very good value Logis de France. Lovely walk before dinner along the quiet road, passing horses and cattle grazing - typical Normandy setting.

Room Tip: We went for the cheapest room, which was small but had all we needed. Rooms at the front would have...

My husband and I stayed here for an overnight on our way home from Spain. Lovely welcome and acceptance of my less than perfect French we went to our room which was a good size.
The evening meal was delicious I specially enjoyed the pintade which was accompanied by a selection of fresh vegetables. My husband enjoyed a delicious plate of turbot which was followed by a good selection of cheeses of the region.

We were amazed that more than 30 people were served by one member of staff with great good humour.

Our return next year is guaranteed.

We booked our stay to break a long journey home to France from UK. Welcomed on arrival & room acceptable. We were looking forward to dinner, but found this unacceptable. One of the starters was OK but the other unappetising. Both main courses were awful - both the pintade & the steak, which were accompanied by over-cooked, tired vegetables. When we attempted to make a complaint, the owner would not accept the criticism. He merely offered us our dessert even though we had scarcely touched our meal. We left the dining room, but once in reception he asked us to leave the hotel & put his hands on my husband's shoulders & became quite aggressive, still demanding we leave. We asked where we could find the gendarmerie, to no avail. All we could do was pack our few belongings & head south.
After a further 4.5 hours driving, we arrived home in the early hours, extremely shaken by the experience, & exhausted.
We are still in dispute with the Logis chain, hence the delayed comment. This hotel didn't rate its 4 stars for accommodation or food in our experience.
Our advice to future guests is "make sure you don't upset the owner - he can't handle it".

Stayed here en route back to ferry. The entrance to the property was impressive as was the building. The rooms are very small- we struggled to get into our suitcase. Rooms were not soundproofed so when the next room were up and showering at 6am, we heard everything. Bathroom and loo fine but no tea and coffee facilities.
